Winter ain't over yet folks!

I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple harsh blizzards blow through before spring.

Aye. Just like some people are going 'ha ha Winter weak' right now, we'll probably see at least one serious storm come through, and the vatniks going 'ha ha Winter strong' then.

We won't know what the overall severity of the Winter is until we get through to Spring.

Speaking from a Polish perspective, it is of course possible that winter with regular -15C nights comes in mid February and lasts until mid/end of March (there was such a winter two? three? years ago). But this is a month only.
That's nothing compared to a "nice, snowy" winter lasting from mid November until mid April. I remember a half year long winter in the mid 1990s. Yeah, I'm old, sue me :p
A repeat of that long winter would had been good for Russia ... for the Gas Weapon, not its troops.

BTW - nobody is capable of convincing me that the German (and other) Greens are NOT (to large degree) a Soviet and later Gazprom creation.

@Scottty - it is "dead per 100k men in 18-50 age bracket".
10700 is NOT a huge sample and very easily skewed. Also, some of the administrative divisions have tens of millions of people, while others have several hundred thousand.
However, Tuva (300k) and Buryatria (1M) having such outlier loss "rates" suggests those poorly populated areas (and not very wealthy?) with martially minded (Mongols! Cossaks!) inhabitants being over-represented in the Army.

The blue spot in the Caucasus - Chechnya?

I suspect that statisticians could have a field day criticising use of this data ...

Also dozens more MRAPs, Humvees, M113 APC's, 18 155mm Self Propelled Howitzers apparently and thousands of rounds of 155mm, 105mm and mortar ammunition including guided artillery shells and more HIMARS rockets.
