Scribbled up a rough index of the Senior Russian Commanders who were killed. At first I was skimming through Rob Lee's Twitter feed of confirmed deaths, and then tried to find an Order of Battle... and saw Wikipedia had it potentially indexed, replete with Commanders and their names. So that made the process a bit easier. This is kinda all of the Senior Commanders I suppose, like Regiment Level above... but also includes Air Force officers and the like as well. Didn't add the Chechen General Magomed Tushayev since the state of his death or lack thereof is supposedly in doubt. Also missing a fair number of Majors and maybe Captains and Lieutenant Colonels who aren't commanding entire units worthy of being on the Order of Battle but I added some in edits and linked Tweets to source some information on them. Maybe that's something I can add later as well. Added dismissals and firings/arrestings and suicide and wounded if not returning to duty since that was listed as well but added the parenthetical. Otherwise it should just be dead officers names listed (unless I messed up). RIP.

Damn.

That's a lot of senior officer casualties that's sorta starting to look like a US Civil War casualty list ... which is not a good thing:

Russian Mercenaries have entered Mariupol.

Good vid by Pool which point's out an uncomfortable possibility.

He posited that it's possible the Russian's are pulling back troops from Kiev, and Putin is maybe in a bunker, because Putin may intent to nuke Kiev to get a 'win' and didn't want his troops too close to the blast.

I hadn't really thought of it that way, but it is a concern to keep in mind.

Edit: Well, that's not how I'd delivery and unload anti-tank mines.

1. Those were captured Ukrainian mines.

2. They’re not “pulling back” just reshuffling forces.

3.Under what circumstances would Russia ever resort to a nuke? Excessive Conventional bombardment, maybe. But Nuclear weapons invites retaliation. Then again this implies the claim of them bunkering down is even true. Oh wait, Tim Pool will jump on any wild story for the views to avoid covering topics that might result in a ban.

Yeah, that is why I call bullshit, nowadays leading from the front is kind of out of style thanks to stuff like radio.
Also, I recall at least one Chechen commander being allegedly killed, only for video of him meeting Kadirov and trolling to surface a few days later.

Not only meeting Kadyrov, but also with a Russian General reported to have been killed. Kadyrov brings the dead back apparently. Allah Ackbar Comrade.

But in seriousness, unless the Russians make an official announcement, the soldier is alive.

Comrade, quickly take this medal and smile and people will forget the lie we told.

Given the withdrawal of all VDV Units from Kyiv Region Front and a known concentration of VDV units near Enerhodar, looks like we will soon see another mass paratrooper assault. If Kherson had not fallen and its bridges had been blown, they would likely hip Zaporizhia. But since Kherson fell, likely to be used to seize Kryvyi Rih. Successful seizure of this City is game over for the Ukrainians. RuAF can use it to strike at will at all potential Dnieper Crossings with its rotary wing crafts and intercept any escape attempts easily.

The more one looks, the more clear it is that Russia never actually expected to seize Kherson and breach the Dnieper there. Kherson group was just to watch the Dnieper and make sure the UkA did not try to come across it there while the Sea of Azov was secured. Russian Generals were just as shocked as the UkA high command when Russian Tanks just rolled across the bridge and decided to run with it and see what they could get. Which was a solid lodgment opening up Kryvyi Rih as a target.

The new shipment of drones didn't last long. And combined with photos of damaged munitions for TB-2s being captured, its likely the TB-2 was largely a non-issue with few successes and then promptly shot down.

Mariupol nearing completion as the Russians continue to give the UkA no quarter for making them fight for the city block by block.

Place military weapons and formations in a civilian area, the protection to the Civilians is forfeited.

An Auriga Satellite System was spotted in Ukraine so someone made a thread on this piece of equipment recently introduced into the army back in 2014.

Brazilian International Legion Volunteer posing with his kit.

Russian forces reportedly released photos of captured and destroyed equipment from the Chernihev region.

Lots of pictures of destroyed and captured equipment reportedly coming from Trostyanets near Kharkov over the past few days thanks to Ukranian counterattacks there. Here's one of various vehicles the Russians have been using for logistics allegedly. Later posts in thread show more abandoned/destroyed vehicles and large amounts of ammunition crates left behind as well.

Another notable death in the Russian Invasion. Rest in Peace Igor Sukhikh.l who reportedly died fighting in Irpin.

You mean the thing Russians don't have enough of? and much of what they do have is open comms subject to spying and interference?
The copeniks don't want to think about the fact their holy Russian saviors blew their own OPSEC by destroying most of the 3G cell towers they came across, despite the fact the Vatnik secure comms relied on said towers.

Edit: So actual news.

Russian volunteers fighting for Ukraine, getting instructed on NLAW use.

Potential dirty bomb components missing from Chernobyl...very not good.

It would be really hilarious if they were relying on American GPS instead of their own GLONASS.

They might be because the cheapest random smartphone you can buy almost certainly has a GPS receiver and GPS is accurate to within less than 2m.

Still pruning the thread regularly. I'm just not obnoxiously posting red staff texts every day or two to tell everyone.

A few posters were taking issue to the nature of the thread pruning and that's understandable. There is no legally defined redline or anything for pruning but I did prune some posts yesterday containing personal analysis/commentary and transferred them to the Donbass thread. Those pruned posts eventually led to a fifty post long discussion with people throwing insults and bickering back and forth with each other over word usage and terminology. It's that kind of bickering that I don't want mucking up this very thread.

Some may disagree, but this thread is meant for direct reporting and discussion on the events of the War. If some of the posts pruned from this thread last evening remained here, we'd have one post about the Actual War itself followed by five or ten or fifteen posts of people throwing insults at each other and while some of you might want that, there's others who actually don't and since there's thread(s) for both, those conversations will be pruned to the appropriate topic. And if you want to engage in that kind of behavior and posting and just want to argue with other people and/or offer up your own personal armchair analysis of the conflict or disputing of sources or whatever, we have the Donb Ass and numerous other topic oriented threads for that kind of discussion.

Finally it's not actually that much work occasionally pruning the thread. Thank you for those of you that brought that up, sarcastically or otherwise. It was initially but thankfully most people seem capable of figuring out the purpose of this thread by now and have options to discuss topics related to this issue but beyond the focus of this thread (which is direct discussion of the Wars Events).

Yeah I saw some random articles about that actually. Article is from four weeks ago. They were also targeting Belarussia's Rail Service... which IIRC did suffer some disruptions since then. Nothing on GLONASS tho.

Also allegedly these civil Garmin GPS units being mounted inside of Russian military aircraft.

A quick reminder that the actual commanders of Russian Troops are not actually known for OpSec reasons unless the Russians announce their names. Gen. Mordvichev for example was allegedly killed in a strike on a command post due to intercepted radio calls. Issue though is that Russia is using fake radio transmissions for its own purposes and the bridging of the Donets near Izium caught UkA by surprise as they had no indications of it from Radio Reconnaissance.

Europe knows which way the wind is blowing. Russia is and always has been a First Rate Power and Putin's bitchslap to all the EU leaders just reminded them of that fact.

Shamelessly stealing a Hezbollah Nasheed Comrades? Have you no shame? Other than that looks like a UkA Marine along with some territorial defense volunteers and maybe one UkA Paratrooper captured. Probably an ad hoc unit formed as the defenses were broken and units were mashed together.

"Snip unverified nonsense"

Any US official claiming they know how many Russians are killed is to be dismissed immediately. Russia has been releasing the names of the deceased and people claimed to be dead have a habit of showing up alive later.

I also find it hilarious that the Pentagon feels the need to give briefings on a war they are not involved in, instead of you know, explaining how they lost to the Taliban and can't win the wars assigned to them.

A cyberattack reportedly struck Russia's Federal Aviation Transport Agency deleting large amounts of data.

A second Bayraktar drone reportedly shot down.

Ukrainian soldiers videoed engaging in ATGM operations.

Russian tank reportedly struck by a Ukranian made Stugna ATGM.

US Intel alleged Putin wasn't aware Conscripts we're participating in the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.

Back on the job.

Build up in Kherson with redeployed units and individual replacements to bring units back up to full strength.

The hunt continues.

If you don't understand this, you weren't paying attention. Kyiv units had V and O and in combined total amounted to 40,000 troops. The bulk of the Russian Army and Messaging was on the Z and Square Z units on Kharkov, Donbass and Kherson fronts where the bulk of the combat power was.

Kyiv was never the intent except in the minds of "Western Experts."

Big if true and would be the first high level defection.

Sounds like fearmongering to me. Besides, I thought Putin's objective was to capture the people and infrastructure of Ukraine, not a depopulated ruin. Russia already has plenty of barren, unpopulated land. And give Moscow more breathing space.
