Tweet is by Igor Strelkov, a former DNR military leader.
He says that heavy street fighting is happening in Mariupol that is done by the armed services of DNR. Chechens still have not joined the fight, he offers 3 possible explanations:
- Chechens are too "precious" in the hearts of the commanders, their (and their leaders) lives and health are too important
- Someone will have to take "victory pictures" and the kadyrovtsy would be quite photogenic for that
- Command simply is afraid of being held responsible by R. Kadyrov for inevitable losses
And the russians [soldiers]? They [command] don't feel bad about them at all. 70% of wounded soldiers are sick from COVID. Almost all non-wounded soldiers are either sick from the same or from sharp cold-like symptoms [probably still COVID]. Forward units "live on dog food" [not literally]. In general, organization is bad. This isn't news, btw. In Chechnya it was the same in both campaigns.
Nevertheless, victory is needed like air.
