Amigo. Speaking only for Pinoy. We're Headhunting tribals at heart. We've kept blood feuds going for centuries. Finding reasons to stoke hatred against Japan for WW2 and their refusing to even acknowledge their dishonor is easy.My rule of thumb is that a grudge should only be held for a maximum of 100 years so yes I will forgive Germany sometime in 20 plus years
The infuriating aspect is that all it would take is a simple acknowledgement and a symbolic apology to satisfy our own code of honor. Only the elders and their direct children who remember the Japanese occupation are adamant now. Japan's crimes won't be forgotten, but they are secondary to the threat China poses now.
China has continually attacked us and stolen our sacred islands. If forgiving the Japanese is needed to deal with the Paper Dragon then so be it.
Hell! Elder Whang Od at 106 years old has more claim to Blood Feud than many alive. Her clan lost many warriors and children to the Kempetai and Imperial Japanese Army. Fathers, brothers, sons and daughters. She grew up a headhunter tribal. Those mountain clans don't forget a single gods damn slight. But she's learned to forgive and move on.
