The infuriating aspect is that all it would take is a simple acknowledgement and a symbolic apology to satisfy our own code of honor. Only the elders and their direct children who remember the Japanese occupation are adamant now. Japan's crimes won't be forgotten, but they are secondary to the threat China poses now.

It seems like the idea is that they will get paid, something, eventually, if they survive long enough, slam their head against the bureaucracy enough times, and don't get into any other trouble that would excuse cutting their pay. Done on large scale, especially with the mess involved, can save quite some money, though i would guess at least some chunk of the money being "saved" may be getting siphoned off into someone's pockets.

You can't say someone is ignorant if they say it happens, and it actually happens. I did not talk at all about the scale of the issue. What I said was correct, sexual harrassment demanding sex in exchange for favorable treatment or to avoid bad treatment is an issue the US deals with also.

Yes you are trying to limit it great, I was responding to Animal noodles saying that this type of sexual assault is cartoon silliness. By saying no it's realistic the stories about the Russian military doing that are probably true. Because MANY nations deal with it, it's an issue that affects anything that has a hierarchy. Like even private bussiness would have this the boss demans the secretary do something otherwise she loses her job. The differance is in the millitary officers have a higher control of your life and can send you to a more dangerous place where you are more likely to die.

I know you are in the Army and you can be a bit defensive about any criticism, but read what I'm saying because I'm not attacking the US here.
