And even then Russia still has a decent chance of winning because of shear numbers, and brutality.
You heard the adage "never invade russia in winter"?
This is because if you try to fight war in russian winter unprepared you will lose to the environment.

Due to vast amounts of graft and incompetence. Russia has no food, housing, water, heating, uniforms, etc etc for its supposed army. Russia is incapable of fighting a winter war in Russia now.

That said, iran might actually bail it out. As none of these are sophisticated high tech stuff. If iran can and does ship basic necessities it can revitalize the russian army.

Mitch McConnell Says Dems Aren’t Doing Enough for Ukraine, Vows Even More Money After Midterms

Most of that money will end up in the pockets of certain individuals who will be expected to be very grateful to whomever put it there; either that or, in a roundabout way, in the pockets of those sending it in the first place. Almost none of it will be used to fight Russia.

I mean, it sure seems like it is helping Ukraine.
Of the stuff wasn't Ukraine wouldn't be doing very well

I think the Russian military's incompetence thanks to apparently decades of mismanagement had a lot more to do with it, but regardless; considering the fact that the Ukrainian military is currently kicking their behinds, and seized enough weapons and equipment from them to equal everything western governments have given Ukraine thus far several times over, they clearly don't need more. And even if they did, they don't need more unsupervised money.

What in the world makes you think that Ukraine doesn't need more equipment, just because it's capturing and repurposing/salvaging crappy Russian kit?

Most of the Russian kit that is captured is not useful in the roles Ukraine is having supply issues in; one cannot really repurpose a old T-62 into an AA unit capable of downing the Iranian kamikaze drones, or the Iranian SRBMs that are likely to be used in the near future. That is work that needs dedicated units with specialized gear, which tends not to get capture from Russia as often as crappy tanks/IFVs.

And it's not just 'unsupervised money' Ukraine is getting, they are getting munitions, clothes, medical stuff, and well...soldiers do need to get paid, too.

And Ukraine expects this war to last well into next year, in order to liberate their country to their 1991 borders. So they are going to need more equipment, and more funds, and even when the war is done we are looking at a Marshall Plan level rebuilding effort to deal with the damage Russia has caused.

This is not the time to be penny-pinching on foreign aid, it's the time to capitalize on the invetment made into Ukraine already, and help them win this war by kicking Russia out of it's borders.

Fair enough, but I'd at least like to make sure it's all actually going where it's supposed to; which our government is suspiciously resistant towards.

This I fully support.
See, that is a position I do understand and support; I do not want our aid to Ukraine siphon'd off by corruption, I want it to go where it is supposed to go.

It's why I support Rand Paul's idea that there should be an OIG head/dept specifically for overseeing the aid going to Ukraine.

Only If USA gave Ukraine to them. Not impossible - Democrats gave Poland to soviets in 1945,when they should fight for us in their own interest.
