Russia-Ukraine War Political Discussion

Well, I haven't heard any reports the gas has been completely shut off and the leak stopped/hole covered.

So as of now it is still ongoing, and no one on the pumping end seems to have stopped the flow yet.

Have you heard anything about the flow being cut off yet?
The technicalities of such a long pipeline are such that the gas will keep leaking even without pumping for up to a week.

And I have a bridge over the Pacific Ocean to sell you!
You are the one uncritically echo'ing Russian bullshit and propaganda, not Zach.

This whole 'I hate the Left/globohomo, therefore I need to support Russia's bullshit' brainbug a lot of people on the Right keep falling into shows a serious lack of critical thinking and a lot of 'I am against the current thing' because the "Left" supports Ukraine's right to exist and keep it's sovereign territory.

It was understandable when it seemed like Putin was just bluffing, and the Russian army was still a conventional menace, to have thought that the Left was just trying to get us into another war we could not win.

However, the Russian military has shown to be a bad joke that makes the fucking Nork's look professional and competent, and their nuclear terrorism (using the ZNPP as an arty base, digging in the Red Forest, continued nuclear threats) shows that Russia is no longer a rational actor, and probably hasn't been for a while.

What makes me nervous is that if the Russians go nuclear or chemical (they still have the means for both), the potential for miscalculation and/or escalation is rather massive. The Russian military has proven to be amateur hour, and the new troops being sent to the front more resemble the Volkssturm than Kitchener's "Pal Battalions." At least the latter got decent equipment and training (though to be fair, the training was on an obsolete paradigm).

With winter coming, all Ukraine has to do now is outlast a desperate Russia. And make no mistake, she is desperate. This isn't the Siberians of 1941 who come to save Moscow. This is the fodder fed into Brusilov's meatgrinder in 1916...in the dead of an oncoming Russian winter. The smart move would be to take these guys and use the winter to train and equip them while restoring the situation the best you can at the front with what you have left. Meanwhile, you wait for spring. But can Russia domestically wait that long? This has already become a fiasco. Putin has domestic pressures he cannot ignore.

There's a reason State told Americans to get the hell out of Russia. It's because the place is coming unglued. Comparisons to 1917 are apt. But the Czar didn't have nukes or Novichok. Putin does.

As for who hit Nordstream? Who knows. The suspect list is quite long, and we have few facts. My money is our children, or their children will learn the truth when it's finally declassified.

I give it a chance that poland was behind this one, they have the motivation after all this is a chance to fuck Russia and Germany at the same time and how many chances do the poles get to do that?

So their demands for WW2 reparations of 1.3 trillion were serious?
Are you serious in asking?
We're very serious about it, although we don't likely expect to ever get them. Not without putting a knife to Germany's throat.
Although, all in all, who knows, it may happen that we will step in and take the war reparations from Germany with our own hands while adding interest.

Moreover, no one will believe it and everyone will think it's Russia or Germany and those two can't tell the truth because no one will believe them.
And this is really our first opportunity in more than two hundred years to play on the noses of both neighbors and not get caught.:devilish:

seems a bit cheap to me. but the ruskies prolly got a separate tally. 10/10 though if it actually is what happened. taking advantage of an addled Biden talking shit to pretend it is a Russian false flag to spite the Germans is definitely a great plan.

Yes, provided it is true. And is it true?
Most likely, about Operation Fałszywy Rosjanin (Fake Russian) the data will be declassified in a hundred years.

I'm sure that has nothing to do with Ukraine shelling the Energodar nuclear power plant.
And I have a bridge over the Pacific Ocean to sell you!
Russia placed demo charges and Ammunition Depots inside the nuclear plants. They've started shelling nuclear plants all over Ukraine especially those that have been liberated from their clutches. Google and CIA satellite surveillance has shown this as fact. As has the Telegram videos of the soldiers carrying out the Demolition work.

If you love Russia so much I invite you to go there. I'm sure they'll welcome your Soviet loving arse to replace the hundreds of thousands of Russians fleeing to bordering nations.

I’m hardly ‘Soviet loving’. And wow someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Sorry, I'm groggy with flu meds. Woke up fucked up and thinking slow. The damn neighbor sneezed on me while I was gardening yesterday. Bastard didn't even attempt to cover his face. He was on the sidewalk walking by. Turned towards my lawn and sneezed I unluckily looked up right into it. It's okay.

I'll show on his doorstep when I get better.

Edit: Covid test came back negative. Thank God for small favors.

American tax dollars at work!

Unironically yes, those are our tax dollars doing work against Russia, instead of ending up discarded as they reach the end of their service lives.

Seeing our equipment doing what it was designed to do, and against the foe that it was designed to fight, is a hell of a lot better than our tax dollars ending up scrapped because their explosive fillers had aged out.

Logistics chains are something that cannot be spun up overnight, and we are giving Ukraine teh means to retain their sovereignty and reclaim their nation.

HMMMMMMMM.
This has been in the works for a while, ever since Russia decided to go full retard and start this war.

I find it interesting that Russia's Crimea Oblast, announced on state tv, include Transnistria, Eastern Moldova, two thirds of Ukraine, including everything east of Kyiv province. Looks like Moldova is next for Russia.

Russian army units have moved to the Georgian border last night. Is Georgia next? Putin is bloody insane if he decides to expand this war.

You know how bad the deployments are? Those units are wearing Soviet era uniforms and gear and are having to sleep on the ground because logistics didn't send tents, camp beds or sleeping bags. Half of them are using AKs that are visibly rusted with rotting wooden stocks. 😆 those kids are going to die against Georgian border guards much less the Georgian army being rushed to the border.
