I have a feeling that Putin's era in the KGB was the last real sharp KGB generation. What's funny is that Putin has caused most of it with his internal purges of anyone that doesn't support him.

If they tried for an invasion of any NATO nations now, the Russian military would be logistically crippled by air power within a week, completely shattered within a month, and functionally cease to exist within six months.

Intelligence and surveillance are watching everything the Russians are doing like hawks. Priority chains for targets are already developed, and if the command to 'go' is given, hundreds of missile and air strikes hitting everything the Russians don't want hit will start within hours.

If Russia tries for a move on Europe as a whole, there are only two questions that remain:

1. Will they get rid of Putin and surrender when it's clear they've lost, or will Moscow have to be occupied?
2. Is someone going to be stupid enough to push the nuclear button?
