Speaking as a homeowner, those investors are incredibly annoying. I get calls daily, flyers are left on my door, my mailbox gets stuffed with them. Frankly, if it's communist to want these people to shut up and go away, all hail Marx and Lenin.

Say will about gated communities, but you don't have deal with that.

OTOH, you do have to deal with the busybody HOA Karen. If she doesn't like the way your mailbox is painted she can make your life miserable ... so it's a trade-off.

The HOA Karen is worse far worse, I'd rather deal with dealers selling drugs infront of my apartment complex then deal with that. I have dealt with that and its still better then dealing with asshole control freaks.

The HOA Karen is a useful tool which can be neutralized when she goes too far because the rest of the neighbourhood probably hates her.
