I mean, tanks with updated fire control can be quite effective and fearsome, but 10 Zimbabwean Dollars says they send them charging largely unsupported through an open field full of mines and dialed in by artillery or something similar to that.
Fire control is more than thermals, and even thermals are not made equal. It's the norm on western modernizations of old tanks like Greek and Turk M48 and M60, and also NATO modernizations of T-72, including those sent to Ukraine, nevermind current generation western MBTs.

Considering the difference in quality between Western and Russian thermals, I suspect modernized M18 Hellcat may be more useful than a lot of stuff Russia has in Ukraine right now...

Unconfirmed reports that Wagner is pulling out it's best Mercs from Bakhmut for operations in Africa, specifically in support of the RSF in Sudan.

Probably more comfortable. Exception in the Winter. Air cooled engine will suck all the warmth out of the crew compartment. Will need a proper Cope Cage for insulation.

So they're slowly trying to cut ties and rebrand away from Russia?

Like rats fleeing a sinking ship.

As Bacle's signature says, IIRC, 'When the effort is no longer profitable.'

Wagner PMC can no longer keep throwing convicts and volunteers into the meat grinder and with Bakhmut almost captured, they got their feather in the cap. Might as well bounce and leave the dreg mercs behind to die and then blame it on the Russian MoD if anything bad happens again. IMHO.

So, there are rumours that Zaluzhny is either dead, or on critical life support after a missile strike on May 8. Anyone wanna bet that Ukraine will soon create to narrative that he was assassinated to cover his death?

They might not, because so far these are just rumours. For all we know, the man could be perfectly fine.

Who cares about rumors from Russia.
He did talk to Milley about the shot down Kinzhals.

I mean, besides the fact he has been seen since?
As Marduk posted.

Oh God, I can’t think back to the old Call of Duty Modern Warfare levels with a straight face anymore. Why did we ever think this country was a threat to us?

Actually it's due to World War III that Russia is doing so poorly in Ukraine, IMHO. 👇

I actually like the colour scheme for the flag. Simple but effective.

And oh dear, Russians fighting for something they believe in are formidable foes indeed.
Problem is, they haven't had something worth believing in for nearly a century now... except Russia itself of course, as Hitler learned - had he made his invasion a war against Communism as opposed to a war against Russia, he would have won.

We're at this stage of the Invasion apparently:

It's a trap. Start shooting police officers!

#ACAB

Russian Sources Stating they are pushing back the local "seperatists." Apparently there was fighting up to 8-10 kilometers deep into Russian territory, precipitating the evacuation of the town of Grayvoron, which had a population of six thousand people.
