United States Trump v Kamala Harris 2024

My opinion remains that this is a super close race and that Kamala can win without cheating.

I feel that the right has been super absorbed into their bubble and looking at silly things like Polymarket, or with theories that go like "the last time X happened
Y candidate won!" The way I see it, the right has been getting WAY over confident, and I am REALLY hoping that doesn't translate to them not showing up at the polls. I'm seeing a lot of "how could Trump possibly lose" nonsense, like people don't realize half the country absolutely visciously hates him. The 2024 race has really shown me how much the right feeds off pure copium.

And that said, I'm not ruling out the cheat. As with 2020, I will follow the evidence. 2020 was obviously cheated. This race has been close enough that they might not even need to cheat.

The right doesn't realize that left wingers actually like Kamala. They're still stuck on the media manufactured "worst VP ever," and haven't caught on that the media's 180 with her worked extremely well with the left wing base.

This will be a close one.
I don't think it's as close as you think. My little sister is about as far leftist as you can get. (Identifies as a they/them and all that BS) And she's not voting for a presidential candidate because that's just how much the left doesn't like Harris.

We won't know who won for a few days, because of how some states have set their vote counting deadlines till Friday.

However, it is interesting to see who here is actually falling for the suppression polls and the suppression news stories that have come out in the past couple weeks and only intensified.

The fact it's two DoD/retired folks who seem most interested in spreading suppression polls and stories does make me think a bit about the blinders the DoD puts on it's people regarding domestic politics, and how those blinders stay on even after retirement in some cases.

I personally expect Trump to win, but for it to end up with court battles for weeks again, and possibly a refusal to certify any Trump win by Congressional Dems, who will attempt a reverse Jan 6th I expect, or just refusal past Jan 20th, to leave the US in political limbo.

Tomorrow is only the starting line for a new mess, not the finish line of the election.

So when will we know the winner?
unless it is a landslide sometime in January. Both sides have their tensions ratcheted up to max. niether side is incentivized to lose gracefully and are in fact heavily incentivized to double and triple down on legal challenges. The left because anything to stop MAGA Hitler who will set up concentration camps to imprison LGBTQAIP2+ people and BIPOCs as part of his far right project 2025 agenda. The Right because we already see the dems pulling shady shit like closing polling locations early and releasing passwords to break into voting machines.

Going to bust out laughing if the GOP keeps the White House until 2041 or 2049.

That's your mistake. The far left is much less supportive of Harris than the rest of the left. And that part of the left is tiny and/or mostly concentrated in areas that are foregone conclusions.
(It's all the genocide, you see.)
So when will we know the winner?
It's possible the winner will be apparent by Wednesday. Or it could be Friday. Or it could be in two weeks. I think the extreme other end is exemplified by Florida 2000 where we really didn't know who was going to be living in the White House until the Supreme Court decision was handed down on December 12th.

If I had to bet I think I'd bet on the stretch between the first and second Friday. But we'll at least have a very good idea of the battle lines by Wednesday, I think.

Odds are the Dems would be forced to do a lot of soul searching if they lost 2-3 elections in a row. If they fail to get the white house for that long I'd fear the Republicans get complacent.

I am not trying to do any denying.
I get news that is interesting amd shared it. If I get pro Trump stiff I also will.

Even the Chair of the Libertarian party is calling for a Trump vote.

Anyway, as for RFK appearing on the ballot in California, that's intentional and good for Trump. The point is to lower the margin of victory of Kamala there to get a popular vote win. It doesn't matter, but would be symbolic.

Except, weren't you going to ignore everything about the election till Wednesday?

And it's not hard to find pro-Trump stuff, if you actually want to find it, nor is 'denying' what you have been doing. You've just been putting up suppression stories like the tweet about the Peanut's owner being a gay porn actor and thus 'may not be what the GOP wants to push', then the blurb from Wollf which no one gives any credibility anyway. Lesser people than Wollf have tried to use Epstein against Trump, and keep failing for the same reasons; because Trump was one of the first to be willing to come out against Epstein.

Prior Warning about violence
Hey all, there's not been an issue yet, but do read this from Das Boot, posted in the pinned threads in politics:
This is an important message from the Boot regarding the election tomorrow.

There will be zero tolerance for calls for violence of any sort. This includes rhetorical, satirical, or 'humorous'. This is not the normal state of affairs but rather specific for this election and will be relaxed when appropriate. Staff has been instructed to be on a hair trigger for friendly warnings for this, however repeated violations may result in escalating enforcement, up to and including forum wide bans. The Boot is hopeful that this is entirely superfluous and unnecessary, that all members of the site will conduct themselves appropriately. If so, the Boot will be very pleased and ordinary operation will resume.

The Boot would like to preemptively point out that on the Sietch friendly warnings are just that, a tap on the shoulder and a request to chill out. They are not a punishment, they are not a badge of shame, they are not a threat. Please don't overreact to them.

Well, my wife and I have decided to treat election night as a drinking game. Every time tomorrow night that someone on tv claims that a presidential candidate has won, before the other gives a concession speech, we're taking a sip. By my estimation, I should be unconscious well before midnight (a rarity) and have a medical necessity/justification to skip work (and the associated melodrama from both sides) on Wednesday.

Tommorow...I plan to do nothing. I will not watch the news, I will not follow election coverage. I will not talk about the Dems good or bad. I'll simply pray, trust God has a plan, and get on with things.

No violence, no anger. Just the knowledge that we all are held accountable when we die.
Ill do my vote and then try to ignore everything until Wednesday morning.

Tried to early vote last week but the line was too long and I didn't have time.

RFK was more likely to pull Republicans then Dems

Plenty of others seem to be in the same boat if ignoring everything till the next day....
It's just most of my off time will be during the height over there.

And....I find articles I post.
What, do you want me to post the same article about Trump winning or going to win?
Like fucking hell.
I don't believe the articles I just post them

Where are you even getting this news? Because the news for the last week or two has been about how much Republicans are dominating the early vote. It's like you're living in a different reality.
Foreign unbiassed news that is not shilling for the DNC or GOP.

Most foreign news I see thinks Trump will win.
The biggest thing most I notice is the Puerto Rico thing.
I work with plenty, they all think the island is a shithole, and is known tk have a massive garbage problem.

I like you Zach but color me skeptical of your claim. Iived on the island for 2 1/2 years and still have many friends there and here stateside. When I say they are pissed. it is from first hand knowledge.

Edit. And for the record I already voted and I did not vote for Trump or Kamala. I voted 3rd party instead out of protest.
