United States Trump v Kamala Harris 2024

Interesting. Still no attacks from leftist social media.

Looks like it went better than I'd hoped for.

In unrelated news, do you think Trump is pro or anti porn-ban?

They're too busy raging about the Ethan Klein - Hasan Abi feud while the less hip ones are whining that The Washington Post has refused to endorse any candidate, supposedly because Jeff Bezos is one of those evil billionaires.

Most likely anti-porn ban, but likely he'd be open to regulations on internet porn that often make pro-porn people squeal. IE, things like actual age verification on online porn websites rather than the bullshit "click here to say you're 18 we trust you bro" that exists now.

AI porn is... he'd probably be anti it? Not out of any stance on porn but he strikes me as someone who'd understand how it could be abused to be defamatory of people in ways that current "satirical" porn is not, and given he already feels US defamation laws are to weak, he'd probably be against more ways for people to easily defame others.

This is just my gut check though.

Texas already has porn verification in place, I'm unsure if it makes much of a difference or not though.

Holy crap, Kamala could barely be heard over the crowd upset with her in Houston.

Wow that Beyonce Campaign Rally Stream pulled in over a MILLION VIEWS

That's almost a tenth of what the Joe Rogan podcast with Trump got, which has surpassed 13 million views!

I'm trying to add in all of the views of the other streams from PBS and the various MSNBheehaw stations, but most of them are only in the mere hundreds of thousands of views category for Beyonce's campaign rally stream.

Plus considering all of the reports (which are probably illegal) of the entire podcast on X/Twitter and the Spotify views, very sad day for Kamala's popularity. She's running out of celebrities and popstars to garner her publicity.

Age verification issues run into some problems with data security and personal ID protections.

Look at how often places like Target, Kroger, or Walmart get their databases hacked and people get mailed 'credit monitoring' offers to deal with stolen ID issues.

Any ID info given to 'verify' a person's age to a porn site, is ID info said porn site can then be targeted for hacking to obtain.

I know the conservative hate for porn isn't going away, but the ways the GOP tries to go after porn are often not up to date with the realities of the digital age and digital age security issues.

Edit: If conservatives wanted to find a sane middle ground on this matter, they first have to understand the issues in play, and not just the ones they want to morally grandstand about. Porn will never go away, but making it safer for the people involved, and making it harder for underage people to access it easily (completely stopping them is impossible), can be done, it just takes both sides being honest.

I totally see why conservatives want to ban it. If i could wave a magic wand and make it impossible for children to access porn, i would. But you're right that the solutions are bad.

I'm not really sure how to approach it in a way that actually works.

Honestly, I'd just mandate that every router come with "child friendly" mode on by default.

If the adult that owns it wants to turn that off, that's their prerogative.

The best thing the GOP could do is just put more protections on porn actors and make the industry harder to abuse; anything beyond that begins to run into 1A issues, digital security issues, moral vs legal authority issues, and frankly general human horniness.

Like, I want to see the GOP tell the military they cannot have porn anymore, and see what happens.

Edit: Also, bad fakes of Kamala as a McD's employee have been doing the rounds on the Left now, trying to snowjob people about Kamala lying about working for McD's.
