Trump Investigations Thread

This was going to end up as a shitshow no matter who "won" -- but seeing this backfire on the Democrats is delicious.

They're desperate and stupid, and it's opening up multiple ways they can be picked apart at even the highest levels.

I'd say that's hilarious.
That assumes the Neo-Cons in the GOP can be exorcized or that they’ll do more then throw some table scraps at those of us who are tired of the status quo. A status quo they still cling to and are trying to resurrect.

Its because the charges are flimsy that we have this can of worms.

Because, no political party can let something like that go and expect to continue to exist. The law of retaliation in politics is an iron clad one and once one side starts using a tactic sooner or later the other side folllows.
the main issue here is it would require the republicans to have balls for them to retaliate. there is a non zero chance that they will just sit on their thumbs and say no please don't do that to the democrats who do it anyways without consequence.

Alvin Bragg Gets More Bad News As Trump Indictment Continues To Be Torn Apart By Legal Analysts

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's case against Donald Trump is extraordinarily flimsy according to legal experts, analysts, and even one of Trump's top legal foes.

John Banzhaf III, a professor emeritus at George Washington University Law School and the attorney who filed a complaint against Trump in Georgia that triggered an investigation into election interference in the Peach State, said that the jury will likely not put up with the harshness of the charges.

"I think even a jury which may not have too much legal expertise is going to look over at this and say, 'Well, this is repetitious,'" Banzhaf reportedly told The Epoch Times.

The Epoch Times reports:

He used this analogy: If a person was accused of a bank robbery, instead of charging him with robbing one bank, the prosecutor would load up 33 other charges, such as "he crossed the street against the red light, was double parked, shot off his gun, and he carried a gun when he shouldn't," Banzhaf said.
"But, you know, to most people, they would say that was one crime, one bank robbery."
Banzhaf, ironically, was the attorney who filed a complaint against Trump in Georgia, leading to an investigation there for alleged interference in the 2020 presidential election.
That investigation is still ongoing, and Banzhaf thinks the New York case could have an adverse effect on the Georgia case. After dozens of charges were filed against Trump in New York, the notion that more could be piled on in Georgia or elsewhere can add to the impression that Trump is a political target, which doesn't sit well with jurors, Banzhaf said.

Banzhaf fears that New York's outrageously large pile of 34 felony counts will lead to "jury nullification," which would entail jurors rebelling against a prosecution that they deemed unfair.

Mike Allen, a former judge and attorney in Ohio, told the Epoch Times that there is a "very good chance" the city's case may not make it to trial.

Allen also reportedly believes that the case's "mishmash" of federal and local statutes won't fly in court:

Allen also thinks the case, on its face, seems "weak," because it's "a mishmash" of statutes—the combining of state falsification-of-records charges with federal campaign finance violations.
The indictment alleges that Trump violated section 175.10 of the New York Penal Code, falsifying business records in the first degree; that charge is repeated 34 times, alleging that Trump repeatedly wrote checks and created inaccurate business records between February and December of 2017.
For the falsification of records charge to be elevated to a felony, New York law states that it must be done "with intent to defraud and intent to commit another crime and aid and conceal the commission thereof."
The indictment, however, doesn't specify which additional crime Trump is accused of intending to commit. District Attorney Alvin Bragg, during a news conference after Trump's appearance, told a reporter that the law doesn't require him to specify that additional alleged crime.

BOMBSHELL: New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan Gets Exposed After The Discovery Of His Daughter's Links With Biden And Harris

The New York Supreme Court judge, Juan Merchan, who is currently looking over Donald Trump's indictment by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, has been exposed after it was discovered that his daughter has close ties with President Joe Biden and Vice Kamala Harris, and several other top Democrats.

Judge in Trump Case Is a Biden Donor Whose Daughter Worked for Kamala

The judge in Trump's case, acting New York County Supreme Court Justice Juan Manuel Merchan, is an apparent 2020 Biden donor.

His daughter, Loren Merchan, worked for Kamala Harris' failed 2020 campaign.

According to revelations, the president and a partner of "Authentic Campaigns," Loren Merchan, is the daughter of Judge Merchan.

Authentic Campaigns works for Democratic nominees and also have worked on Biden and Harris's 2020 campaigns.

Merchan's website also cites a quote from Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, it said "We partner with our clients to build award-winning online programs for progressive campaigns."

According to a report by Breitbart News, Merchan was appointed as the "Director of Digital Persuasion" for "Kamala Harris for the People," during the whole year 2019. To be exact, from February 2019 to December 2019.

She had also worked for the Biden/Harris campaign.

As soon as the Gateway Pundit unveiled Merchan's LinkedIn page and Twitter account, both of them got disabled and deleted.

According to FEC filings, Judge Juan Merchan donated 3x to ActBlue:
- 1st donation was earmarked for Biden's 2020 presidential campaign
- 2nd was pledged to a PAC that rallies voter turnout for Dems
- 3rd went to Stop Republicans, which is dedicated to "resisting" Trump & the GOP

A video of Kamala Harris being greeted by supporters on the 2020 presidential campaign trail autoplays on the advertising agency's landing page.

Loren Merchan's consulting company also proudly lists the Biden-Harris campaign at the top of its client roster.

Trump also published a post on his TruthSocial account, in which he responded to the report and wrote:

"VERY UNFAIR VENUE, WITH SOME AREAS THAT VOTED 1% REPUBLICAN."
He added:

"THIS CASE SHOULD BE MOVED TO NEARBY STATEN ISLAND – WOULD BE A VERY FAIR AND SECURE LOCATION FOR THE TRIAL. ADDITIONALLY, THE HIGHLY PARTISAN JUDGE & HIS FAMILY ARE WELL KNOWN TRUMP HATERS."
He continued:

"HE WAS AN UNFAIR DISASTER ON A PREVIOUS TRUMP RELATED CASE, WOULDN'T RECUSE, GAVE HORRIBLE JURY INSTRUCTIONS, & IMPOSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH DURING THE WITCH TRIAL HUNT. HIS DAUGHTER WORKED FOR "KAMALA" & NOW THE BIDEN-HARRIS CAMPAIGN. KANGAROO COURT."

WITCH HUNT: Manhattan D.A. Bragg Presents 136 Years In Prison For Trump Despite Presenting No Actual Crimes

Far-left Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is attempting to make 45th President and leading 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump serve a maximum prison sentence of 136 years despite failing to specify what laws he broke.
Trump faces 34 frivolous felony charges. Under New York State law, each "Class E" felony Trump faces carries a maximum sentence of four years.

During a poorly viewed press conference on Tuesday, Bragg openly admitted to reporters he doesn't have to "specify" Trump's crimes because "the law does not so require."

"The indictment does not specifically say what those crimes were. […] What laws were broken?" a reporter asked.

"The indictment doesn't specify because the law does not so require…" Bragg shockingly answered.

"The only crime that I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it," Trump told a massive crowd from his Mar-A-Lago club on Tuesday after returning from New York.

Earlier on Tuesday, Far-left and corrupt Manhattan prosecutors revealed their frivolous details concerning Trump's 34 felony charges. They accused Trump of covering up sex scandals during the 2016 presidential campaign, falsifying business records in the first degree.

Assistant Manhattan district attorney Chris Connolly claimed in court that Trump falsifying business records undermined the integrity of the 2016 presidential election.

The judge presiding over Trump's case, Judge Juan Merchan, didn't place a gag order on Trump, but told Trump's defense team to not make "statements that are likely to incite violence and civil unrest."

Judge Merchan refused to issue a gag order on Trump since he is a "candidate for President of the United States" and "his First Amendment rights are critically important," according to the Daily Mail.

Far-left District Attorney Alvin Bragg could face up to five years in prison if he is responsible for leaking Trump's frivolous indictment.

Leaking grand jury testimony is a Class E felony under New York state law and carries a prison sentence between one and five years.

"A Class E felony charge is considered more serious than a misdemeanor charge, and as such carries a potentially longer jail sentence. While a Class A misdemeanor in New York carries a sentence of up to 364 days, a Class E felony can result in a sentence of between one year and five years," according to The Law Offices of Julie Rendelman.

Bragg, who has been exposed as being funded by a group supported by far-left billionaire George Soros, was able to get a Manhattan grand jury to vote to indict Trump last Thursday. The Color of Change PAC, the "nation's largest online racial justice organization", which was given $1 million in May 2021 from Soros, gave $1 million to Bragg but later pulled back half of their donation.

Also on Tuesday, April 4, Adult film "star" Stormy Daniels lost another case against Trump in the 9th Circuit Court where Trump was awarded $121,962 in her attorney fees.

In March 2022, Daniels was ordered to pay Trump $300,000 after losing a defamation case against him. However, on Thursday, a Manhattan grand jury voted to indict President Trump over a $130,000 payment to Daniels made by his former lawyer and now-convicted liar, Michael Cohen.

This makes Trump the first American president to ever face criminal charges.

Manhattan DA Bragg Claims GOP is "Interfering" By Subpoenaing Former Trump Investigator

Former special assistant district attorney Mark Pomerantz, who led the investigation into former President Donald Trump's finances, was subpoenaed early Thursday by Republican Rep. Jim Jordan. Pomerantz resigned from the Manhattan district attorney's office in protest after the district attorney hesitated in pursuing Trump's case.

However, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has criticized the move by Republicans as an attempt to undermine an active investigation and an ongoing New York criminal case. Bragg tweeted that "Repeated efforts to weaken state and local law enforcement actions are an abuse of power and will not deter us from our duty to uphold the law."

Bragg also called on elected officials to "fulfill their oath of office" by not interfering in an ongoing criminal matter in state court. He emphasized that these officials should instead focus on their job in Congress and not infringe on the sovereignty of the state of New York.

Jordan's subpoena, mandated that Pomerantz appear before the committee for a deposition on April 20th. Pomerantz's testimony could provide further insight into the investigation and potential legislative reforms to protect presidents from politically motivated state and local prosecutions

Pomerantz was hired as a special assistant district attorney in 2019 by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office to investigate potential financial crimes committed by former President Donald Trump and his businesses. He examined documents and records related to Trump's finances and worked with other prosecutors to determine whether criminal charges should be brought against him.

Pomerantz's resignation from the Manhattan district attorney's office last year due to the district attorney's initial reluctance to pursue Trump's case sparked controversy. His forthcoming testimony could provide valuable information on the investigation, which is still ongoing.

Full statement from Bragg:

The House GOP continues to attempt to undermine an active investigation and ongoing New York criminal case with an unprecedented campaign of harassment and intimidation," Bragg tweeted. "Repeated efforts to weaken state and local law enforcement actions are an abuse of power and will not deter us from our duty to uphold the law. These elected officials would better serve their constituents and the country, and fulfill their oath of office, by doing their jobs in Congress and not introducing on the sovereignty of the state of New York by interfering in an ongoing criminal matter in state court.

Nah.

This is what they wanted.

Don't forget that they WANT to prop up Trump. They saw the DeSantis landslide in Florida and want no fucking part of that. They very very much want Trump to be the nominee in 2024.
It's the 'Pied Piper' strategy; use Trump to get the opposition to rally around an ineffective idol, while making sure the effective opposition is kept from getting grassroots/MAGA support by infighting.

Trump was mostly bluster, not enough follow through. I do not fear DeSantis failing with the follow through if he had the Oval Office.

Remember, the one substantial complain the Left has raised about Trump is exactly the thing that allowed him to succeed.
Trump needed one hundred percent of that bluster. Normally statesmen who would do anything at all get the mushroom treatment, see Ron/Rand Paul. Trump did something, even if he didn't manage everything. It would be perfect if he had as much follow-through as bluster, but we can't get perfect, we just got good enough.
