Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

In theory he is right,in practice...

That Bruegel report is ... not worth much. What did it tell us what we did not know already? And seem to overlook that training soldiers takes longer than making the weapons.
That.We could have such army - in 2031 or later. If Putin decide to attack,he could go to Atlantic if USA decide to call german bluff and widraw from Europe.

Ukraine states that a significant quantity of Russia's 122mm artillery ammunition was stored at the 107th GRAU Arsenal which was struck by Ukrainian forces back in September of 2024 in one of the largest strikes against a munitions depot in the war. In total an estimated 160,000 tons of munitions was eliminated in this strike.

Per this video, the recent strike on the confinement structure at Chernobyl was worse than it appears; there are still smoldering fires inside the structure because of it.

The people working at Chernobyl do not know how they will be able to fix the hole, because dose rates at that location are too high to have people work there very long. Some are saying they may have to move the confinement structure back to the area it was build at, repair it there, then move it back over the reactor.

New way to clear enemy positions dropped, and well, kinda hard to shoot bees while they are swarming you.

Maybe we should send Ukraine some Africanized honey bees to drop on the Russians.

Weaponisation of bees is an East Slavic thing - I remeber a comic from 40 years back where a valiant underage Bolshevik in 1920 dropped a hive into a British supplied White Russian Mk.V tank.

Lack of warning on Russian strikes could be a result of end of intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

Part of the End of Intelligence Sharing with Ukraine on Striking Russian Targets or Russian Territory is affecting fires even on a tactical ISR level.

Ukrainian Officer 'Tatarigami' offers his analysis of Ukrainian versus Russian manpower, losses and casualties and desertion including examination of loss ratio.

It first examines Russian AWOL/Desertion Records using Russian Court Data and Leaked Documents/Data. They don't disclose the apparently known numbers of Ukrainian desertions except they are higher then the Russian numbers with some caveats.

The report then details casualties and losses and estimates Russia has lost 210,000 killed and 200,000 severely wounded. Adding in estimates of missing and desertions (including unreported or missing deaths and bodies) the estimate of permanent losses of Russia are estimated to be between 460,000-560,000. Total casualties for Russia could be around one million but wounded who recover aren't included in the ratio the article is formulating for "losses."

Conversely they state Ukraine's losses in killed and severely wounded is potentially under half that of the Russians, with 90,000 killed and another 90,000 severely wounded. This is due in part because Ukrainian wounded are often given better treatment. But of permanent losses including those who went AWOL or deserted could balloon those losses up to 300,000 thus changing a ratio of 1:2 losses in favor of Ukraine potentially being as close as 1:1.87 loss ratio versus Russia. Thus Ukraine does suffer from manpower shortages since Russia has a population three times as much.

Ukraine could be facing more critical manpower shortcomings if they follow current manpower/mobilization methods in 6-12 months time.

old soviet tradition - but it started in tsar times. For example,in 1863 we lost Uprising against russians, and one of battles which we lost take place in Kampinos Forest.
460 russians defeated 110-120 poles there, and since both sides had obsolate muskets they fought in melee.
Since half of poles had war scythes, they killed many russians there - but officially they lost only one calvary officer.
Why? becouse they could not hide that officer died, when some privates do not counted.

Now it is even worst, they hide everything.
