The GOP can conduct their own, separate investigation after they will win the 2022 midterms. Sounds fair? The GOP spent years investigating Benghazi, after all. They can investigate this as well.

The current Jan 6th thing is garbage. It's literally the false flaggers investigating the false flag.
What are they going to do? Come out and admit they had fed, blm, and antifa plants instigate a riot and then use that to blame the right and attack their political enemies? That Pelosi lowered security on purpose and capital police waved people in. That Trump wanted more security but was ignored by Pelosi and the dc mayor?
Hell no! They'll do exactly what they've been doing. A complete sham of a show trial with no defense allowed. They call people to harass and attack them, cost them tons of money in legal fees, and if they can have them harassed by the fbi and other agencies. They have been proven to have altered evidence, leaked to the media, ignored anything against their narrative, and are made up of hand picked partisan hacks by Pelosi, including the opposition members in radical anti trump Cheney and kinzinger which hasn't ever been allowed before on any other investigative committees. It's blatantly corrupt.
If there was going to be a actual investigation I would welcome it. Get Pelosi under oath and ask her why she reduced security. Ask who ordered the doors open and for the police to wave people in. The fbi on the plants they had. Why the Jan 6th committee ignored that for years and lied about everything.

"May 12 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump wanted National Guard troops in Washington to protect his supporters at a Jan. 6 rally that ended with them attacking the U.S. Capitol, leaving five dead, Trump's former Pentagon chief testified on Wednesday.
Former Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller told a House of Representatives panel that he spoke with Trump on Jan. 3, three days before the now-former president's fiery speech that preceded the violence and led to his second impeachment.
According to Miller's testimony, Trump asked during that meeting whether the District of Columbia's mayor had requested National Guard troops for Jan. 6, the day Congress was to ratify Joe Biden's presidential election victory.
Trump told Miller to "fill" the request, the former defense secretary testified. Miller said Trump told him: "Do whatever is necessary to protect demonstrators that were executing their constitutionally protected rights."
Miller made the remarks during a contentious hearing held by the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating security failures in the days leading to and during the riot.
Representative Carolyn Maloney, the Democrat who chairs the committee, demanded answers from Miller on why National Guard troops did not arrive until hours after the building was overrun.
Miller testified that the U.S. military was deliberately restrained that day when Trump's rally turned into an assault by hundreds of his followers that left five dead, including a Capitol Police officer.
Miller testified that he was concerned in the days before Jan. 6 that sending National Guard troops to Washington would fan fears of a military coup or that Trump advisers were advocating martial law."
Basically Trump wanted the national guard there for security. Told them to fill the request and make it happen.
Miller didn't. The security was deliberately restrained. Said it was to reduce fears of a coup.

Politifact saying security was only Nancy Pelosis fault as "Mostly False". She is in charge of them as speaker but they also reported to McConnell.

So my bad. It wasn't just Nancy behind the crappy security. It was also McConnell.
I tried to find more left leaning sources so claims of bias wouldn't really factor in. These all pretty much claim a violent riot caused by Trump and so on.
But, Trump wanted more security and was ignored, security was bizarrely lax and unprepared, Pelosi and McConnell were in charge of capital security.
Strange that there aren't any inquiries into who ordered the doors opened and people let in?
