'Climate Change' and the coming 'Climate Lockdown'

God damnit Germany…
They must have some kind of plan to keep power.
They are not idiots, they would not increase prices if they could cost them control over Germany.
I gladly belive that they are sons of bitches, but they are not stupid.
They would never take power, and keep it,if they were.

Meanwhile in Poland:

When we restart closed coal mines,i could belive in our goverment.Till then,i think of them as useful idiots.

I'd be laughing my ass off if my countrymen's stupidity wasn't also dragging me down...
If you don't laugh it is just sad. If you can't laugh at your own country screwing itself over maybe look at Briton? or California? they always got something funny going on. here have canada's plan for reducing the carbon.

edit They are putting in 3 billion to get net 0 emmision cars and demand at least 20% of all new cars be that by 2026. they don't have that. cars produce emmisions. especially their electric ones.

They would be wasting money if they did. The coal spike price is petering out. There is hardly a difference anymore between market and existing mine coal price. Reopening mines would just make the EU mad, and in a year the coal would be a problem because it would be more expensive than market price and so no one would want it and then miners would be mad again.

We need mines to be independent, not making money on it.

If we make electricity out of expensive coal then we will have expensive electricity like Germany.
So then either you subsidize electricity (EU will be mad) or have businesses run away because of expensive electricity.
Energy independence sounds nice, but who's going to volunteer to pay premium for it? It has to be done through investment into something that will make cheap, or at least competitively priced electricity.

You also have coal ash to deal with, which can be a mess. Unless you find a way to recycle it like using it in concrete.

Coal from private mines in Poland is not so expensive.

The most expensive mines were of course those that were closed.
Part of them,maybe.
Rest, becouse our eunuchs do everytching what Berlin said them to do.
Entire time sabre-rattling how great patriots they are,and how they would not give anytching.

So,i would not trust them with anytching now.

Sure.

That doesn't mean the closed mines are the expensive type.
Back a couple decades ago Poland had massive issues with financial sustainability of coal mines, and that was before green crazy got big in the EU. Of course they weren't closing the best functioning mines with best geological conditions.

Becouse goverments political friends were stealing from them
Those who get private owners magically started making moneys.
I bet, that the same would be true about 90% or more closed mines.

More specifically, they try to tie in man-made climate change with the more erratic rainfall patterns in the Okavango Delta, which is already undergoing oil drilling and exploration, as is. Definitely no climatologist, but I encourage anyone here with science credentials (e.g., @Bacle or @Bear Ribs) to comment, if so inclined.

Wait, they are drilling in the Okavango...god help them, that alone (with Africa country-tier infrastructure) is likely to destroy the wetlands the first time they have any sort of major accident, never mind the drought.

Fuck, enjoy those wetlands before they end up full of toxic byproducts of cut-rate oil drilling/cementing work.
