United States Biden administration policies and actions - megathread

Yes, the graph is leaving out anomalous salaries from people fired/hired midway through the year. I mean, if I get a job worth $100k a year, but start in July or take a 6 month sabbatical, it doesn't make sense for me to be included as having a $50k salary.

So that's not a problem, that's basic data cleaning which shows that the person doing the graphs actually knew how to do their job.
Dude, let me burst your bubble a bit here, because you're making a number of assumptions here. First off, the ones who are really asking for loan forgiveness are the activist types who got useless majors that will only get them work if companies create positions for them, which is to say something akin to a political officer. While a disturbingly large number of companies have done just that, there are a lot more graduates than there are these high-paying jobs. So most of these people end up working retail, which only feeds into their hatred of capitalism, not only because of the tiny wages they earn while the company really makes bank, but because of the tendency of people to treat retail workers like trash. I know because I worked retail for an awful long time. My degree? Oh, I have two actually - a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and a master of engineering in mechanical engineering. Actually I worked retail to pay the bills while earning that second one, but I found myself there for a full year after finally earning it because no one wants to hire me, apparently, and I know from some of my other friends for school who also have STEM degrees, that they have also found difficulty finding jobs. There are all kinds of jobs out there for someone like me, but it seems like all of them expect someone who has a years of experience or some super-genius who was at the top of their class who can just jump right in with no additional training from the company. And I'm not just talking big companies here, I'm talking tiny local ones even. So for now, I managed to get out of retail and get into industrial work, by getting a job as a CNC operator, which amounts to pushing a button and getting widgets. I'm not complaining or anything, as it's an okay job that pays fairly well, but all I would have needed to get it was an HS diploma. This looks like it might end up being my career, and if it is, I sure wasted an awful lot of time and money.

shrug My views when asked? "If you voted for Biden -- if you voted Democrat -- I am laughing at you because you are a clueless fuckwit."

When they get offended, I just laugh and say, "Yeah, but you're still a fuckwit." :ROFLMAO: People are being so shocked at how the Democrats/Biden are going back on their word or outright breaking it. They expected differently? Fuckwit. Simple.

This is a combination of outsourcing manufacturing and excessive college admission.

If you really want to do that career, you need to bite the bullet and accept low or no wages for a little while and find an internship.

After that an entire world of opportunity will open up to you.

I also suggest looking at tech recruiters. If you have robert half around where you are, they have been pretty decent.

This is off topic though..so anyways, moving on..

Replace China with Iraq in your post and we are right back to 2003 in terms of rhetoric.
There is a huge diffrence. Mainly, Iraq was never more then a regional threat, didn't have, iirc biggest besting GPS, satellite network, have a huge amount of money in the Cyber and space areas.
They are not Iraq circa 03. They are USSR circa thier height, and worse off as they arnt collapsing right now.

The only reason they're not collapsing is because the west is propping them up in their quest for ever greater profits; the moment that stops, China's economy starts to evaporate.

And they become a lot more hostile to the neighbor states

Is it horrible that part of me actually kind of wants to pick a fight with them?
Nope, you are perfectly normal, as far as I'm concerned. I am of Chinese heritage myself and I'm itching for a fight with those godless ChiComs.
Untold thousands of my people gave their lives in an attempt to snuff out this monstrosity in it's cradle AKA the Chinese Civil War.
I am sure as hell not going to let their sacrifices be in vain.

Comrade Commissars gonna be policing your thoughts soon. Be careful out there everyone!

If you're from the States, then joining the National Guard or Reserves is always an option. US Military always looking for engineers and other specialists. At least, that's the situation with the Canadian Forces so I'm guessing it's the same down south.

About STEM, those programs are oversaturated. Not enough jobs in the industry and too many people in the programs.
My parents also wanted me to do STEM (I'm of Chinese heritage, no future questions needed) but I did some research and decided to stay the hell away.
Currently working on my Bachelor of International Business, which is a pretty open ended degree with a wide range of opportunities.

I would recommend X become a DoD civilian or contractor. Makes more and gets same benefits

Neighbors who might actually be able to fight them off, if western countries weren't still essentially funding China's military buildup. Unfortunately, with Biden/Harris in charge, I expect the flow of money from our coffers to the CCP's to increase for the foreseeable future.

I dont.
And the Neighbors stand a chance no matter what. I can assure you.
It with be easy without US help

You did hear about how we starting giving money to that Wuhan research facility again, didn't you? The one the Corona Virus came from, that may have been created in an attempt at developing bio weapons to use against us?

I hope you're right about that.

Funny thing is that one of the reasons my dad voted for Biden is he thought Trump was too friendly to China.
...I'm sorry, but your father needs some reality smacked into the back of his head.

People use Chinese-ified nicknames for Biden because he's that much of a puppeted shill, for crying out loud!

I don't think it was a purposeful bioweapon, but the results have pretty much ended the same way.

I think Chinese competence reared its ugly head. The virus was probably a research project for something else, all being on the sketchy side, and the Chinese being as competent as the Soviets were in their initial nuclear program (such as handling plutonium with their bare hands) resulted in the virus escaping into Wuhan proper.

Frankly, anything related to Chinese development and manufacturing is like giving a monkey a hand grenade and half-expecting something to go wrong.
