Yeah the vocabulary used can be pretty distinctive or broad depending on the reader that using a catchall term of 'Armored Fighting Vehicle" sometimes seems preferable to me. Especially since the Rosomak never struck me quite as an Armored Personnel Carrier as I think of them.

In fact, as far as I know. Our military really liked the BWP-2/BMP-2 with its firepower. Therefore, when looking for a successor to the SKOT, they wanted powerful firepower, hence the Rosomak (Wolverine) has a 30mm cannon like armament. Which combined with the fact that all the time mechanized troops stuck with the BWP-1. So by some coincidence it became a Combat Infantry Vehicle but Wheeled.

Yeah, this type of vehicle design is pretty common, sometimes simply called a wheeled IFV. Ukrainians already have BTR-4, and LAV based 25mm autocannon vehicles are probably the oldest major use of this concept.

Even if the 'almost' actually proves to be true this time, Russia has wasted so much manpower and material on one town, they're still taking a strategic loss even if they manage to pull a tactical victory.
