Hopefully it's been long enough that this doesn't count as double posting.
As thoughts of the immediate future and the reversals in Texas cooled I've been wondering what the aftermath of the war will look like. For my part I don't doubt it will end in an American victory eventually. The NCR has made (and been led to make) this a total war, and they just don't have the resources to carry that out. Technological inferiority (though not nearly so bad as it once was) combined with at best population parity is a bad combination for them.
All that being said, I've been wondering if perhaps the post-war Decaliforniation efforts might not attempt to simultaneously demonize Tandi and lionize Aradesh. Tandi is the obvious choice, if you're going to be building an alternate narrative of history where the events of FO2 did not happen as commonly believed. The Enclave's actions gave her a powerful tool to solidify NCR unity and expand it's control over NorCal; recasting her as a cunning political operator who knew of the Enclave's existence (perhaps by suggesting the then much more cautious government quietly contact her, and she faked reintegration negotiations while simultaneously planning the nuclear terrorism?) and used them as a bogeyman would make for a compelling narrative if the proper proof could be 'found.'
Why then lionize Aradesh? The people of the NCR are proud of what they've accomplished, and by painting the NCR as good at it's founding but tainted later, the lie becomes easier to believe because it offers Californians a lifeline, as it were. They weren't deliberately rebelling against a rightful and democratic government much like their own, they aren't bad people. Depending on how it is spun it could even be said that many in the NCR government up through... the Oliver admin at least, were likewise good people laboring under the lasting effect's of Tandi's lie.
On a completely unrelated note I'll also say that one sad thought occurred to me. While the proposed future stargate cross sequel would, I think, be better than the prior proposition of ME; one thing I will miss not seeing is the fact that of all possible timelines, few could make Urdnot Wrex more disappointed in his species than a crossover with this Fallout timeline.
