Eh Mass effect died with 3's botched ending. They thought they could do without what made them famous (Shepard) and it bit them in the butt. Kind of like what Star Wars did to Luke.

It helped he was doing it for his kids. AFAIK, he basically showed them a list of proposed projects, and told them to choose which one they wanted to remember as his last. They picked Street Fighter, and while Raul Julia knew little about the franchise and maybe found the script more than a bit campy, decided to go as theatrical as possible.
Like I said, he made a bad film watchable, if not enjoyable. M. Bison was the true star of that film thanks to Raul Julia.
Much to the rage of all the right people, Kingdom Come Deliverance: 2's story trailer came out and is being lauded. It appears to please its core audience whilst maintaining historic authenticity, which is a frankly bizarre deviation from modern gaming's method of doing things.

It's facts like this that makes me not support modern day style economics. I think publicly traded companies should be banned or heavily controlled. Private companies should still be allowed to do things. But all power should be in the hands of a person, a human who is actually accountable for the actions that it takes.
It's one of the reasons I like Enterprise Rent-a-Car. Still privately owned.
I wouldn’t quite agree with banned, but the public company model is simply not sustainable in the long run. Maximising shareholder value, which the public company is incentivised to do, is to get results today with tomorrow’s resources, whilst chasing endless growth. That’s how these idiots bought the “wider audience/modern audience” con and why they are still buying it.
Private meanwhile, for all its faults, can be happy with its bottom line being met regardless of quarterly report. Profits go up and profits go down, but so long as enough is made the company can keep on trucking. The name of the game is more long term wealth generation that will keep the company in business for years hence.
Well, no, it just depends on industry. The hardware industry really does have infinite growth. Even in the worst case, new people are always buying their first phone or computer.

No. It makes no sense to punish well performing public companies, which can create far more value than if they were private, just because some of them are performing badly. That's like cancelling a race just because almost everyone loses.
The public ownership model was a quick and half sensible way of garnering investment for your company. You surrender control over it, but in days of yore there were pros and cons.

Obviously not. As with most bad behaviors, the market will quickly punish the guilty and reward the competent.
Unless the government decides to intervene, of course. No system can stand against the incompetence of a powerful government that's trying to help.
Don't worry, they'll be replaced with better companies.

I a big fan of the Free Market. I rather dislike mixed markets as a whole. However, I don't think prohibitions on certain practices cross the line from the Free Market to a mixed market, and I am very against publicly owned corporations. Much better to only have privately owned business.
I think it is perfectly fine for the government to make a policy against Public Ownership of businesses. You can still get investors, but they're basically lenders who gain back interest as a portion of their original buy-in set against the value of the business. They do not get control over the company nor may new investors buy in.
I'm no expert though. I could be wrong about the specifics of what I just proposed. Still, Public Ownership of businesses has caused much more trouble than it has solved.

1: They might be accurate in so far as all of five of them were wandering around Dark Ages Scandinavia.
2: No, that isn't how myth works. It's accessible to all but it's tied to a very specific place, time and (usually) people.
3: If the reality of the situation angers you that much, then perhaps it is time to reassess your worldview. Because this shit is pathological and nothing good comes of that.
