2024 ND Governor's Residence: Burgum OUT

@The Whispering Monk @Sergeant Foley @The Immortal Watch Dog @Cherico @gral @f1onagher @Mimas @Red_Tornado @filipina84 @Husky_Khan @Zachowon @bintananth @TheRomanSlayer
BREAKING: ND Governor Doug Burgum (R) announcing he's NOT seeking reelection to 3rd term in 2024, which will likely set up a huge political jockeying for positioning inside the Peace Garden State.

1.) Burgum NEVER intended to seek 3rd term in the first place in my personal opinion.
2.) Despite the state's new term limit law, Burgum was grandfathered into seeking 3rd & 4th terms if he wanted to.
3.) Presidential campaign was lackluster.
4.) Low job approval ratings back home & backlash from ND GOPers.
5.) United States Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) rumored to declare his campaign for the Governorship.

Any thoughts on the non-surprise news of Burgum bailing out of Bismarck & if he's making a mistake ?

That's a shame. I'd rather have another term of Burgum than Cramer. Cramer is crooked as fuck.
did a quick google and from what I can see he is saying mostly the right things. Care to elaborate a bit more since you are a native of the state?

edit. most concerning thing I can see is

Violence Against Women Act[edit]

In 2013, at a forum on the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Cramer engaged in "a testy exchange with Native American victim assistance leaders."[65][66] He later issued a statement apologizing for his "tone and rhetoric" during the exchange.[65] Cramer voted to reauthorize VAWA,[67] but opposed language in the act that would allow tribal courts to prosecute non-Natives "for abusing or assaulting Native American women on Indian land."[68] Cramer asked, "How could a non-Native man get a fair trial on a reservation?"[68] and questioned the provision's constitutionality. He voted for an amendment to repeal it.[67]

admitedly I don't know much about Tribal courts either so I can't say how bad that actually is. but it is terrible optics there.

What I know about him is mostly having to do with money under the table type stuff. I know he got elected by riding on Trump's coat tails and then turned around and didn't support him. Also his son makes Hunter look like a winner.

As far as Tribal courts, I actually agree with him on that particular issue. Tribal courts really aren't fair, especially not to non-Natives.
Considering ND has that STUPID term limits law, Cramer is better off staying right where he is serving in the United States Senate until he kicks it.
