I think Antares might mean the NCR was given the blueprints for the X-42 Giant Robo-Scorpion.

So, uh, Giant Robo-Scorpion vs Liberty Prime?

I’m being reminded of Zoids from back when I was way younger, there was a YUGE Scorpion Zoid that was larger than the MC’s Liger and the Raptor or T-Rex Zoids

Just saying, the Enclave has a better economy and to me it looks like the NCR’s working class wants to gut the top but are kept down by Anti-Enclave propoganda
I would say it's more like the economic boom from civilization restarting on large scale has been unevenly distributed. Helped along of course with rampant corruption from the bottom up. Of course the NCR seems willing to totally gut the economy to fuel the war effort so we'll see how far the populace is willing to put up with it.

I would say a lot after generations of anti Enclave truth and propaganda.

We see in other chapters that most citizens see the Enclave as a threat to their very lives on a personal level. Combined that with a media that fans the flames and the Enclaves past actions I would not be surprised if the average citizens is not thinking any but the army needs to be as strong as possible. Granted I am sure that changes the higher up in the NCR social structure you are but I could see normal women handing out white feathers to any man not enlisting after Texas.

Basically, the NCR wants them(citizens)to just shut up, work the fields and factories, fight in the wars to come and accept any ill treatment because they have a bigger fish to fry

I think the Enclave does so well economically, is because they are mostly composed of guys who legit believe in this whole, civilizing the Wasteland and bringing back America thing and look to only do conquest as a last resort or in self defense as others accede to Enclave rule through diplomacy

Having an already advanced tech base and infrastructure kinda helps

I've seen it compared that the NCR is early Industrial Revolution with robber baron-equivalents, whereas the Enclave is the idealized 50s with enough tech for there to be legit hope that people can work their way to the top or reach high still

Don't forget the robots, the New USA has a heavily automated economy, at least in their core territories. You can leverage your population much more effectively when you can outsource large portions of the labor to robots.

That's the interesting part of long term NCR viability. The sins of the Enclave might be hammered by the government all the time but the public does not have long memories and when essentials start faltering priorities get realigned real quick. One of real problems coming down the pipe is when the Chinese/South American reinforcements, NCR field armies, and clone legions take to the field with all the food requirements that come with them. I doubt the seemingly monopolized meat and grain industry is working at maximum efficiency or has enough spare capacity to easily handle such increased demand.

The thing about the NCR and E-USA is that they're in some ways 'post scarcity' in the respect that they have access to fission/fusion power, very small populations relative to that power output and are more limited by philosophy / politics / MAD SCIENCE than practical concerns. Salient Green technology alone solves any food shortage issues the NCR would have in an emergency, and I'm certain the E-USA either has SG or something analogous to it.

On that topic, is Stanislaus Braun still around / has the E-USA been able to further develop the G.E.C.K.?

I would disagree with that but I can see where you're coming from. For one thing until one side fully exploits the cheap AI and alternative resource extraction methods Fallout tech provides, nobody is post-scarcity yet. I also never saw in reference to SG technology being put into use in the NCR, but that could change.

I mean, energy scarcity certainly isn't a thing on account of fusion power and relatively low populations.

I also never saw in reference to SG technology being put into use in the NCR, but that could change.

SG is a very useful food concentrate and a part of NCR field rations, but it has the problem of tasting roughly like cardboard. It'll keep you alive, for sure, but ...

Just saying, the Enclave has a better economy and to me it looks like the NCR’s working class wants to gut the top but are kept down by Anti-Enclave propoganda

There's no talk of revolution in the NCR. Sure, people grumble, but ...

Remember, it takes a nation on the cliff beforehand to fall to revolution. The NCR isn't at that level .

Neat that extra power makes me think they have some sort of personal force-shielding or Tesla field. Nice to see the US is still committing to overhauling electronics and programming more towards something we had decades ago.

I didn't know US military electronics included direct neural interfaces.

I thought Fallout America missed out on one invention we all have IRL in our electronics or computers? I’d like to see less bulky Pip-Boys for one
Originally the Fallout world never developed transistors, advanced operating systems, modern computer networking, and other aspects of advanced computing. Of course they still managed to do crazy things with what they had so you ended up with a world with AI but no color TV.
