Can you really be said to be guilty of the sin of genocide if you were stopped before you could actually start a genocide?

I mean, sure, it was intended. But if it never happened and the ones who had the intent were all killed, how can the Enclave really carry that sin?

See you could have gone with the fact that the current Enclave leadership is descended either from people who were unaware of the genocide or the descendants of (in the case of Autumn in-universe) people who were sidelined for their moral objection to it, but instead you went with the "but somebody stopped them!" argument.

Honestly the being descended mostly from those innocent from those crimes where barely anyone from that time and place is alive to tell the tale, is the better argument

The past is over. What matters now is the present. Who is better for the former wasteland of the USA atm?

Sure there are shades of gray, but as I said before, there are times when the other guy is worse than you

TBF, the NCR is very primitive compared to the Enclave technologically speaking and I think the Enclave under Autumn would have hung most of the guys of New Reno rather than give em power

Quick question, what happened to the Regulators in Fallout 3. Given that they are supposed to be vigilante/law bringers, where they absorbed into whatever law enforcement that existed, or did the US government shut them down given that they were taking the law by themselves.

Also, what happened to other settlements in the Capital Wasteland, places like Tenpenny Tower or Big Town. I know Megaton, Rivet City and Camp Littlelight being broken up and its residents relocated, so is that the standard Enclave policy.

Its covered in the prequel stories

Rivet City was used for parts

Little Lamplight had the Enclave enter, take the kids out and sent to government approved foster families

MacCready is particularly sour about that

Right

Say, whatever happened to MacCready’s sick kid? I think he was living in Freeside before the start of Fallout 4

I’m guessing that MacCready had to swallow some bitter pills and have him attend school in Enclave-Boston so that he could have a better life

Yeah, but I'm just curious about the other places like Tenpenny Tower, since I tried looking in the prequel stories so far, and I couldn't find anything about it.

I'm guessing that after Colonel Autumn found out about the whole thing about accepting ghouls en masse only for em to kill the guys inside, he decided to kill all the ghouls within and sell the place off

LW assisted that guy in getting in, then killed him after he murdered everyone.

Crow gotta eat

That peckish, patriotic, Protestant passerine.

Well, I can certainly see why that might make the idea of segregrating ghouls from rest of the populace an appealing idea for the E-USA until they are able to either find a cure for ghoulification or they all go feral over time. Still a bit distasteful, but I can see where the policy could be considered justified by the E-USA to prevent another situation like this caused just by one homicidal bigot (whether ghoul or human).

I wouldn't count on the NCR being primitive technologically compared to the E-USA considering all the MAD SCIENCE they have in their portfolio wrt the Big MT, Mr. House, the tech the Courier lifted from the E-USA in Autumn Morning and etc.

They are behind, but that has more to do with NCR's politics than raw brain power, and they'll possibly have the advantage in flashes of brilliance considering the E-USA has the 'luxury' of being able to suppress its MAD SCIENCE while the NCR can possibly just start lobotomiting people and sending out legions of remote controlled clones or something like that.

Heh, honestly as much as it seems the E-USA is gonna win this. It's a bit fun to speculate an NCR victory just for the sheer chaos of the aftermath.

By “behind” I mean simply put, if they had more advanced technologies, I doubt they’d be treating Brahmin Farmhands like crap

Probably because those jobs wouldn’t even be needed

Problem with using MAD SCIENCE is that it harms PR considerably. I mean, imagine the country you are fighting for suddenly starts using what are essentially brain damaged slaves. That would severely shake the morale of the average trooper, who might start thinking that they are now monsters, similar to the Canadian annexation.

Out of curiousity, whatever happened with Werner. I know he was a former member of Ashurs Slave Kingdom, but then he was made a slave. Was he hanged for his former crimes, or given amnesty given his situation.

The NCR is a 'scratch built' coalition of survivors, wastelanders, slavers, vaulters, barbarians, and ancient technological abominations. The only reason they've had to improve themselves from the enormously high tech base they already have (because remember, consumer access to fission / fusion energy) is from outside pressures regarding Ceaser's Legion first and then the E-USA.

Farmhands are treated like serfs / slaves in many areas because in those areas that's exactly what they are... and even if the central government of Shady Sands wanted to change that arrangement... well... just look at history to see what it took for the USA to rid itself of the Peculiar Institution... and then Jim Crow...

Contrast that to the E-USA which was founded on the ideal of the USA continuing from 1776-Present, which means they have constrained themselves to certain rules and norms rather than the 'Weird Wild West' conditions the NCR has operated under.

Still, I’d expect tech to make it so that their jobs would be less necessary and not as cruel

I’m sorta guessing that the Brahmin & Big Horn Barons may know that Enclave economy is more developed and has the technology and goods and outright regular farm animals to beat em, so they have interest in keeping a war going
