Russian Government Finest the Wikipedia Foundation on "Disinformation" Regarding the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.

A Moscow court fined the Wikimedia Foundation 5 million roubles ($88,000) for refusing to remove what it termed disinformation from Russian-language Wikipedia articles on the war including "The Russian Invasion of Ukraine", "War Crimes during the Russian Invasion of Ukraine" and "Massacre in Bucha".

"This decision implies that well-sourced, verified knowledge on Wikipedia that is inconsistent with Russian government accounts constitutes disinformation," Stephen LaPorte, Associate General Counsel at the Wikimedia Foundation, said in a statement.

War Translated said:
Has anyone thought what would happen after the “de-mobilisation”? It’s unclear when the war will end and how many men will die. Whoever wins – it will never be the same as before. The most interesting thing – no one is naming the number of dead and crippled men mobilised in Donbas, and no one knows when they will be named. Many will not return, and many of those who will, they will be disabled. Many of the returned will require quality psychological assistance. And they won’t find it. But they will find alcohol and uncontrolled aggression. How will they raise the region then, with what means? After all, we are not famous for our cafes and barbershops, but for production – heavy, labour-intensive, requiring qualified specialists. What’s the point of the preserved production if there is no one to work? And how many domestic drunk conflicts are expected between men, who will say – I was fighting, while you were under a woman’s skirt?

As a reminder, the KIA rate was 60-100 per day for Ukraine about two weeks ago.

As a reminder, "a top ukraine official" isn't actually a named source who's credibility can be checked and claims can be corroborated.

And yes, that's actually where the KIA rate claim came from according to the article, not the person claimed by Dave on Twitter. (Which is hilarious levels of bad faith given he wrote the article.)

The guy being interviewed doesn't even know that the 600k troop number for Ukraine is only now coming into play due to reserves finishing their training.

So I would rate it meaningless prater.

Do you have any citations for that? I'd be interested in reading them.

As it was, however, you need to learn to read the article before trying to argue with it:
Up to 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers are being killed or wounded each day in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, with 200 to 500 killed on average and many more wounded, a top Ukrainian official said on Wednesday.

The big picture: President Volodymyr Zelensky said on June 1 that 60 to 100 Ukrainian troops were being killed daily as Russia stepped up its Donbas offensive. Over the past two weeks that number has climbed significantly according to David Arakhamia, who leads Ukraine's negotiations with Russia and is one of Zelensky's closest advisers.

The top official in question is the person cited….exactly as the author in question claimed?

I've seen reports about how Ukraine is no longer forcing all males to stay in the country for defense/conscription reasons, or requiring Ukrainian males abroad to return home or face legal action.

It seems the Ukrainians have enough manpower for what they want to do, but are lacking in the equipment to fully outfit their units at this point. Some of that may be due to a lot of gear requiring new training, so there is a 'backlog' of units that still need to get trained on their new Western gear.

Also, looks like a Russian depot was hit, which is going to slow them in some areas.

The Military Balance 2022.

At the start of the war Ukraine only had 196k active troops.
