Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

Is he still in Kyiv though? Because as far as I'm aware, all we've got for proof of that right now is him saying that he is.

He posted a selfie video on the night of February 25th I know that I don't think was faked when people asked if he was still in Kyiv that was posted in this thread IIRC. And the strategists on the Internet were quick to point out how stupid that was while others pointed out it was for propaganda reasons. But you are right in that at this exact moment we don't have proof now so we can just speculate he's not. Hopefully he exposes himself again for more propaganda reasons.

The way the Roman church was set up initially did not give the patriarch of Rome any special power, in our historiography at least, the Pope usurped powers he should not have.

Frankly,I see Byzantinism and Romanism as a major reason for east-west tensions, but we should probably talk to it in another thread.
Frankly I am not much of a christian and have paid very little attention to christian history, didn't get baptized until I was like 18 and even then only because my ailing grandmother wanted my soul to be saved, since then I have gone to church, like, twice. I sometimes even think it would be easier if we just forget this Modernized, Diverse and Inclusive Judaism for Dummies and go back to worshiping Perun.

Normal thing in Bulgary, till 1990 church was part of soviet secret police, too.Just like now is in KGBstan.
But now,you have normal orthodox church, which is shismatic, but christian.Unless KGBrussia.

Back to war - why do you treat it as if Putin victory would help anybody but him?
he is not last hope of whites, but last ruling KGB colonel. He is fighting now to not be replaced as fake tsar, not to help anybody expect him.Well, somebody fight and die for him,but such is life now.

P.S if i remember correctly,perun was slavic god,Bulgars,as turks,have others.Not important now.

I must have missed that; could you direct me to the post with said selfie?

I mean handing out weapons could and should have been handled much better but I have nothing against arming the population of a country. Opening up the prisons and arming convicts though? That screams of both desperation and contempt for your own populus.
When did Zelensky start forming penal battalions source?

When did Zelensky start forming penal battalions source?

He apparently released a statement stating he was willing to free some prisoners who had military experience.

Daily Mail said:
'Under martial law, Ukrainians with real combat experience will be released from custody and will be able to compensate for their guilt in the hottest spots of the conflict,' Zelensky said.'We have taken a decision which is not easy from the moral point of view, but which is useful from the point of view of our defences. 'The key is now defence.'

They don't have the time, the organization nor frankly the ruthlessness to make penal troops even possible. To say nothing of their limited use against modern mechanized infantry, even if they could get them organized.

Whoever is in charge of logistics, I'm surprised they haven't quit yet.

They even still have 40 F-14s in flyable condition with 3 more in overhaul and thanks to an under-the-table deal with South Korea, even have 64 F-4s still flying after the South Koreans, 'accidentally,' shipped them enough parts to build 30 of them.

But yeah as another poster said, this is common knowledge, what rock have you been living under? Then again the US lost to the Taliban and still can't figure out the difference between fighting a Colonial War with a 3rd world nation and fighting a Mass Maneuver War with an industrial nation. Ah well.

I'd heard that they are literally building their own F-14s from scratch, heavily modified.
Why they don't just buy MiGs or Sus is beyond me.

Anyway, one of BPS's guests here had quite a few things to say about the idiocy of just giving out weapons, this guy was a military contractor in Iraq and has a few pretty interesting insights about the petrodollar and potential endgame plans for Xi and Putin.
TL;DR this guy thinks Putin wants to destroy the PetroEurodollar:

Honestly I'm guessing that it isn't that many people. When he references real combat experience I'm guessing it's people who did oopsies while in recent military service as opposed to opening the prisons and giving everyone a Kalashnikov. Plus I haven't heard anything about it since then. If he was giving NLAW's to every rapist and serial killer, I'm assuming it would've come up by now. And who knows, maybe it will. The pro-Russian social media has been having a field day blowing up alleged friendly fire incidents and allegation of banditry within Ukraine after all.

That sounds like less penal troops, and more something USA used to do, and on smaller scale still does.

The problem is that the insurgency would be predominantly men between 18-35 years of age, Ukraine lost much of this population to emigration in the last few years and vast majority are unlikely to return, so the loss of their best trained troops to the encirclements in Donbass region would be a devastating blow to the nascent insurgency, so it's more likely the Ukrainian government would give in to Russian demands, rather than continue sacrificing it's citizens.

This is assuming that the Ukrainian troops in the Donbass will actually manage to get successfully encircled as opposed to them successfully retreating and establishing a new front line further to the west.

Lot of video allegedly coming out of Kharkov where civilian casualties from the Russian bombardments had been reported in the past few days.

Here's the reported video of a school struck by Russian munitions in the Ukrainian held city of Mariupol

Wikipedians working fast on things relating to allegedly captured equipment like this TOS-1 lol...

And to finish out this post, this is probably the most cogent and non-biased analysis of the Russian Invasion of the Ukraine I've seen yet. It goes into some really interesting and up to this point AFAIK, original analysis of the Bridges of the Ukraine like those over the Dnieper and how they've been shaping this conflict in ways that weren't foreseen initially.

Th3y have injured a lot of civies

There is no real "buy off" option for Ukraine, not with the sheer size and the sanctions inflicted.
Its not like all Chechens fought in their war either, the force estimates are 20-40k.

The sanctions are irrelevant, China will bankroll Putin and the Petrodollar will fall. In fact sanctions strengthen regimes as it leaves the people no choice but to stick with their leaders. Hence Iran still standing and still flipping the US off.

Ukrainians as in WW2 will largely put their heads down and go about their lives and look up to the old Babushkas who grew up in Soviet Times who in turn will tell them to cease fighting, and live with the new Regime. Its better than dying.

Any event: "Сиреневый парк" по ул. Нефтяников в Херсоне, 1 марта 2022 год.#ужасы войны

Not linking it, due to its graphic content, but the result of giving untrained civilians weapons and sending them into battle. On youtube.
