This
is getting a bit worrisome, you know....

...something something he who fights monsters, something something the abyss also stares into you.
(And I make a joke of it here, but it's important to keep that in mind. It's so easy to lose your way when you let blind hatred guide you; even justified hatred. Trials for thoughtcrime and blatant jingoist bullshit -- "you're Canadian so your opinion is invalid", that kind of thing -- will never lead to just outcomes. Nor ones supported by reason. Those who would do right must commit to right action. That's always hard, but it's the only correct path. It only taints all arguments and leads the way to false solutions.)
I'm sorry, have you seen the state of Canada lately?
Leaf's got no room to shit on the US for anything, and secession is legal in Canada, after all. If British Colombia or Calgary wanted out and into the US, we'd let them in in a heartbeat and not much Ottawa could do.
Not to mention Canadians sticking their noses in US politics has never resulted in anything good, and usually just resulted in W's for the Progressives.
And frankly, I've seen you and others here shit on Trudeau and Canada just as much as I have, because Canada's gov is an even more socialist hellhole than the US is even close to.
If our we need to rescue our Hat from socialism at some point, I expect you and most others would be cheering the US on.
So make your joke, but you know damn well how bad things have gotten in Canada in recent years, and I'm only partially joking when I say the US may need to one day liberate our northern neighbors from commies and socialist destruction on par with pre-Milie Argentina.
See, the primary place we disagree, on both ends, is based on predictions that neither of us can really confirm until this is said and done.
Personally I don't think Russia will try this again any time soon. They thought this would be a couple weeks, and instead it's been a couple years, and they want out, but won't leave with nothing.
And I have absolutely ZERO reason to believe that after fighting Ukraine and being in a 2 year mostly stale-mate, that they'd ever DREAM about goint against NATO. NATO is far more powerful than Russia.
No, my prediction is that they tuck their tail and run with a few concessions, once this is said and done. Then all those countries on the border need to invest in their militaries and bolster the fuck out of their borders. If they don't, and Russia later invades them? That's on them. It shouldn't be up to the US to play world police. In fact, my entire life online I've been told that by almost every foreigner I talk to. And then suddenly they are threatened and it's all "come save us uncle sam!" It's time for europe to step up and handle it's own mess in my opinion.
Further, I don't see Russia as a threat to me. I don't actually care that much if Ukraine in its entirety, became part of Russia. It wouldn't change the life of the average American. In fact if that ends the conflict and removes the threat of nuclear escalation, I'm totally okay with it. The main threats I face are on my southern border, in my government and running my media.
Russia isn't my friend, but they're not my most immediate or dangerous enemy either.
My predictions are based on Russia's previous behavior over the centuries, the rhetoric the Kremlin pushes to it's own people, and based on how Russia's neighbors feel about the situation.
Your predictions are based on the mistake of 'mirror thinking', of thinking Russian leadership and culture operates on the same wavelength as a centrist American, and not understanding that Russian strategic and cultural thinking won't see a things the same way you think they will.
People besides me have tried to get this point across to you for a while, and you don't seem to want to even contemplate that Russian leadership doesn't view things in the same mindset you are assuming they will.
Your predictions also do not account for the generational warfare Russian leadership is gearing it's culture up for, as well, and seem to think in rather short term outlooks.
And you still haven't dealt with the part Russia played in Oct 7th, which shows why Russia is a direct and present threat to the US and west, even outside of the conflict with Ukraine.
Or do you think Russia backing Hamas and friends is no big deal and no threat to us either?
You don't want to consider that you've misjudged the Russian leadership's mindset, Roci, and don't seem to want to deal with the fact Russia is very much our enemy in multiple theaters of the world.
I have noticed that Bacle seems to have nothing but contempt for many countries that are supposedly the closest allies of the USA. He was spewing venom about the UK a few posts back as well.
I tend to dislike the UK in general, partially because of their continuous pompous attitude towards the US, while at the same time begging us to save them, and partially because of my Irish heritage and the Brits unrepentant actions toward Ireland over the centuries.
That's even before we get into the crime against humanity that is most British cuisine.
I like the UK Armed Forces, and not much else out of that island.
My contempt for Canada comes from...well, a lot of things, some related to Trudeau, some related to Canadian progressives causing problems in the US, and some because your nation never actually got free of the UK.
My contempt for Germany comes from...well, it'd be easier to figure out what I don't find contemptible Germany; I guess their pastries, wedding festivities, and Octoberfest related stuff is respectable.
I do too lol. Just disagree with him on Ukraine. I've been listening to most people from these countries talk shit on me and America for most of my life. Most of you here are alright, but I tend to not like those people lol
I haven't forgotten all those foreigners who will shit-talk the US in 'good times', right up till they need us to rescue them from something in 'bad times'.
It's part of why I do support Ukraine, because they actually supported the US in both Iraq and A-stan, despite not even being in NATO, and didn't shit all over the US out of hand like many western Euro's did for decades.
