...maybe dial back the 'traitors' rhetoric, when what is being said is that dumbass Dems actually buy the lies about Trump and mistakenly believe he/the GOP would sell Alaska back to Russian.

Eh, I think if it came to an attack/threat of attack on a US state, that has Senators and Reps in Congress who vote, no way is it brushed off or twisted like some stuff around Ukraine and Israel have been.

Eh, it's not even a matter of 'hope', just understanding how it would activate nationalistic impulses in even the most jaded or corrupt of the elite and both aisles.

I can think of literally no one outside maybe Hinkle or MacGregor, not even fucking Tucker Carlson, who would play along with Russian lies and grifting when an actual US state, not even a territory a fucking STATE, is the target of Moscow's annexation plans and active operations to that end.

Also, realistically, if Russia actually tried for Alaska seriously, anyone who is 'ok' with it/helps Russia is likely to simply be shot extra-judicially and have the shooter hailed as a hero, if Russian forces set foot on Alaskan soil.

Spies are fair game for summary executions, after all, even if they are usually traded for other captured spies these days.

Edit: Then again, Russia would have to make it across the Bering first, and the Russian navy has no real ability to deploy forces at range and in adverse sea conditions, so the few ships they do have would likely be sunk before ever hitting shore. VDV/paratrooper units would be a bigger danger than amphib units.

I guess this might be related to why Alaska is getting more play in Russia now.

If people in the Russian Far East realized their easiest way to avoid mobilization would be to find a boat and make for Alaska to claim asylum, after doing a small stint for immigration violations in a rather cushy US immigration detention facility (indoor toilets are rare outside major cities in Russia), well...a fleet of refugees making their way across the Bering is rather different from Putin launching an invasion of Alaska.

Maybe the US Coast Guard should set up a refugee collection operation in the Bering like we have/had for Cuban's fleeing Castro.

Screen the refugees for FSB plants and ulterior motives, keep them under tight watch for the rest of their lives, and Russia would lose a lot of it's best and brightest, or just sanest, people, leaving only those who deserve to be ruled by Putin still residing in Russia.

Putin keeps signalling he's serious about taking the 'Russia wants Alaska back' idea from meme to possible policy in his domestic rhetoric.

Before 2022 I would have never thought the Russian people could be stupid enough to actually think that's a viable idea to make policy on, but here we are.

If Putin's stupid enough to actually try to gin the Russian people up for a go at 'reclaiming Alaska' via the same greyzone tactics and 'little green men' bullshit, maybe we've underestimated how retarded Putin's Russia is willing to go.

There are 3 possible explanations:
1.Dude is barking mad.

2.He is sane,and doing so for his soviet serfs to show them how powerpuff he is.

3.He is knowing something about deep state - for example,that they plan to start civil war.If war happened,deep state could gave up Republican Alaska to Moscov.
Becouse Moscov could not win on battlefield,but thanks to traitors - it is possible.

I think they are pressuring her and the site selling drugs are example of what happens if she refuses their offer. It's all the fake evidence they need to imprison her in a gulag for decades
