What you just said is one of the dumbest foreign policy statements I’ve ever heard.
Think your enemies aren’t stupid and won’t always kill themselves for you. If you want to prepare for the worst put yourself in their shoes. You are the leader of a Sunni Muslim empire, sure you may not like the west. But you also don’t like the Shia Muslim empire. The Shias are also closer to you and a bigger threat(if the west is smart and doesn’t pick random fights)
That means those nations will focus their resources and attention on each other for the most part.
Will they? Or is it just your statement of unjustified belief in simplistic, 1v1 setup just like i said?
This is the China-Russia conflict that's supposed to happen but never does all over again.
Empires that are going for each other's throats will point their deterrents, whatever they are, at each other, and stare down until an opportunity happens, be it one's mistake, someone blinks, or literal big rock from space falls on them. But until then, they will look for weaker, lower cost opportunities to gain strategic edge on the other before going for a confrontation with them.
This is, in other words, the story of the Cold War - while the real WW3 didn't happen, there were fights, delaying actions, and attempts to get an edge big or small in all sorts of third party places, some more and some less important, which ultimately resulted in one side outlasting the other.
And playing fucky-fucky games with western countries, as long as leftists poison them, will be a desirable option for the foreseeable future, as every existing and aspiring non-western major power is showing right now, due to leftists being likely to block any serious retribution.
