How about not putting Ronna McDaniel in charge of the RNC? How about not spending millions on very safe districts and on trying to primary out MAGA while leaving key swing areas to flounder with no help because they are too close to Bad Orange Man. How about not fucking over Trump in the first 2 years and actually working with him when we had the votes to get shit done for the first time in a decade? How about actually taking care of Americans problems instead of focusing on whatever the next endless war is gonna be? How about cleaning out the fucking useless pollsters and campaign guys we have who only know how to lose gracefully. The fact that Scott Pressler does good work is in spite of the GOP. they don't help him. they haven't tried to learn or copy his methods. at this point the Establishment wing seems determined to self sabotage as long as they can keep MAGA from grabbing the reins.

Thank you very, very much.

This discussion was concerning the long term perspective, not the recent actions which I agree have happened, and have been aware of Establishment sabotaging Conservatives for much longer than the screwing over of MAGA has (go look up what the R establishment did to Cuccinelli in the 2013 Governor's race, y'all are LATE to this party). This entire playbook the Establishment is playing against the grassroots was pioneered here in Virginia and you can see what that cost them here.

As to the issues with the RNC spending and going after grassroots candidates you know who pushed Ronna McDaniel over the top for being in charge of the RNC? Trump. Had Trump not endorsed her this last time around there's a good chance she would have been replaced, but no, he backed her for... reasons?

And what, precise things did the Establishment Republicans hold back on from 2017 - 2019 where they didn't cooperate with Trump? Trump was all in for the tax reforms. They passed his big justice reform bill. Democrats filibustered anything with direct funding for building a wall and other border control reforms, so what should Republicans have done there, blow up the filibuster on legislation and lose one of the most potent tools for when they're in the minority? Failed to repeal Obamacare? That's entirely on McCain and his personal feud with Trump not the establishment. They also gave him every Supreme Court appointment he put forward even digging in when in prior administrations the President would have folded.

You're still speaking in these broad generalities not specifics. You're also focusing on the last few years when the situation in question was posed as involving the entire 20th century.

The point is that Christian fundamentalists (certainly not any group that has any remotely meaningful adherence) would do the kind of utter nonsense seen in that book.

The Handmaid's Tale is just Fifty Shades of Grey for delusional feminists who want to indulge in some covert fantasising. The book makes zero sense as anything else.
It's an allegory for what was going on in Iran at the time, just after the revolution in 1979 and set in a post-nuclear former US.

Originally sure but now it's used as a scare tactic for women. Implying that if conservative Americans in general and MAGA more specifically. Have thier way with American culture that the Handmaidens Tale will become reality in the US.

The sad reality is that we do have a very right wing future it's just that said right wing future is nothing something any of us actually want. Corporate neo feudalism is almost unavoidable now and its infuriating that Caesarism and the fact that there can only be one emperor is our futures only real hope.

Corporate neo feudalism isn't right wing. Not in theory, and not in practice.
Right wing are the ones fighting hardest against it. Left wingers endorse it.

And the USA became a Feudal nation in the early 1913 when the federal reserve was established. (12 privately owned banks designated as the ones to print money. Creating a nobility / robber baron class of those from select bloodlines who own these banks. and can just buy out all of the economy with printed money)

Sadly enough I don't think you can have an agustus with out a ceasar.

All three of the main factions are varying shades of tyrannical. Caesar and House are both basically autocrats, just one more barbaric and the other more civilized. Not that there's a moral equivalence between the two IMHO.

And the NCR is a democracy, but a lot of the Mojave population isn't and from how the NCR can potentially deal with its issues regarding the Khans and Brotherhood of Steel, their occupation can be seen as fairly authoritarian. Especially with Colonel Cassandra Moore barking orders to me. Yes Mommy. I'll blow up the Brotherhood Bunker! 😭

What? How is house and the group with mass slavery and rape morally equivalent?
