WTF, who are they talking about?
US conservatives in general and how they appear to those outside the US, particularly the older tradcons who treat conservatism as a purity spiral and think you don't need to appeal to a larger section of the population, only them.
To people outside the US, the Dems are psycho's but effective, while conservatives are impressive in how often they shoot themselves in the proverbial foot when it comes to appealing to people outside the hardcore base.
This specific instance was supposedly provoked by some Boomer-cons equating anime with troon shit.
Because the one thing I've discovered since 2016 is the Right is great at appealing to mostly the hardcore base, and really only care about their internal primary appeal, not general election chances.
"Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory." should be the GOP party motto.

I think it's more of a subculture\generation conflict within the right than anything else - doubt it's the people from "far right" chans with anime memes who are whining about anime, while at the same time they may be even more hardline than the tradcons in question.

Yes, which is why the fossils driving the GOP and US right in general into the ground need to be replaced with younger blood, and people not nostalgic for the 50's or a decades old paradigm that isn't going to return.
There is no reason people in their 30's should be allowing 80-90 years old to make decisions about the youth's political and social futures, when most of the time it's a Boomer 'I got mine, fuck the youngins' mentality driving the policy makers.
The should be an age limit for Congressional office, so the world stops getting run into the ground by foolish and deluded geriatrics.
Being old is excusable, being clueless about own party's electorate while running said party is not.
That said, retiring geriatric leadership is not the worst idea, even if not for any political reasons but mental acuity alone, the US military does practice it internally.

LOL, , if you care so much about anti-anime boomers, then you DeSantis supporters better clean the ones you have too. A bunch of them in Hillsborough County are trying to get Assassination Classroom banned from school media centers.
I just happen to have come across the those twitter posts by accident elsewhere, and have no idea who hese boomers are going for in the GOP primary.
However if their are some dumb boomers, that happen to support DeSantis, trying to get that series banned...laugh at them too and tell them they are doing a bad imitation of Sheila Broflovski from South Park.
You just had to get a dig in at DeSantis, even though he had nothing to do with the memes. Florida Man (potential) POTUS triggers so many Trump die-hards.

Well yes, considering DeSantis appointed the co-founder of Moms For Liberty, one of the two groups involved pushing for the ban on Assassination Classroom, to the new RCID board and DeSantis has supported her before, when she ran and won the chair for Sarasota School Board. She's also been active in getting the same type of conservative with boomer beliefs as her into more school boards in Florida. Her husband is also the Florida Republican Party chairman and is by all reports the same type of boomer-nonsense conservative. So yes, I am going to get a dig in since DeSantis is keeping company, listens to, has supported and is supported by the same boomer types you keep crying about and want to get rid of.
