One could be forgiven for getting the impression that these guys are not entirely keen on living under a Communist dictator.

Twenty years ago many in Taiwan believed that Chinese principle of ''one country - two systems'' could be workable, a view much encouraged by the USA. Hong Kong crackdown put the end to that belief and apart from fringe minority, Taiwan population is noping hard on becoming part of China. In military though, having any kind of trust for mainland Chinese intentions was never seen as a positive mindset.

Bit wordy, but gets the message across otherwise. :p
I still laugh at the "student loan forgiveness" Biden touted... and then promptly went "lolnope" to all of the deluded Underwater Basket Weaving and Gender Studies students, much to their utter shock.

Bernie isn't that much better. I'm pretty sure the guy and his supporters equate that because American dollars are printed on paper, and paper comes from trees, then all you need is more trees to print more money. Problem solved. 🤔

*Glances sidelong at Obama running on an anti-war platform and then starting a bunch of new ones.* :cautious:

Yeah... I think we've seen this one too many times before. They may not be the same person, exactly, but if his boss was a backstabbing hypocrite, then it makes sense to suspect that might've rubbed off on his VP over their eight years together. And that's ignoring the fact Joe's been a politician (read: a professional liar) most of his life, as is!

Honestly, I'd say that's more or less the average person's understanding of economics. That is, they seem to believe having more money means having more stuff, without realizing that money's merely a means to the end of purchasing the actual stuff.

Really, it's embarrassing how little economics people understand. Not saying free-market schools of thought are the be-all, end-all, but they should at least understand what money is and that you need the actual stuff in order to buy more stuff and grow wealth.
