If prole Hispanics really will decisively shift towards the Republicans, then that's an argument in favor of the GOP making their own immigration policy more prole-friendly while the Democrats move their own immigration policy in a more cognitively elitist direction.

the fact that you're using 'prole' as the descriptive here tells me that you've completely embraced the Left's idea of just two sides to the issue.

The reason many Hispanics are moving towards the Republican Party is because the Left has completely unmasked, and the Hispanics are paying attention to what's happening around them. They can see the harm being done to their community by the Dems/Leftists.

When a group of people actively harm you and your family you fight them by finding the biggest opposition you can to that group. That's the only reason this looks like a 'VS' fight.

They're running about even between the parties now, which is a massive shift since 2018 when they leaned Democrat by about 40 points.

I'm against democrats importing voters, but not just because that's bad for the GOP, but because that's bad for the American working class, of which myself and My family and friends are a part.

So no, importing more Latinos just because they might vote GOP is a bad idea. I am against either side doing this.

And part of the reason, I presume, that a lot of Latinos are becoming against democrats, is for this same reason. A flood of immigrants hurts the ones who are here already, by taking up their opportunities and driving wages down.

You want the Latinos to vote for you? Adopting democrat policies at a time when they are actively fleeing the Democrat party, seems like a really dumb way to go about it.

IIRC, some of the greatest advocates for closed borders are the sons of immigrants - they know they will be replaced by the newcomers.

I will say, in defense of insect food, chocolate covered scorpions were surprisingly good. Like, I just looked up the price cause I wanted to see if I could go buy some good.
If you need to survive knowing how to is handy as well.
And yes candied bugs are surpeisingly good

For now, he's probably going to end up like Gerald Ford, one of those that kind of fades into the background.

Well, what about Jimmy Carter 2.0? I know that's cliché, but given the mix of economic, diplomatic, and PR problems the Biden administration has going for it, that seems like a pretty apt comparison to me. (Of course, he'll end up shouldering the blame for all of it, even though it's pretty clear he's not actually calling the shots here.)

If anything, I'd actually say Trump is more like the Ford to Biden's Carter, insofar as how history will probably (albeit unfairly) remember him. That is, a boorish, mediocre president whose term was wracked by troubles... which then got way worse under his successor, who ended up setting a new record for worst president ever himself (or the worst the US has seen in a while, at least).

I think Biden will steal the entire legacy of badness from Carter. To quote Trump: "Carter mismanaged and screwed up every crisis, but he didn't cause the crises in the first place!"

Technically, Biden didn't cause them, either, but he's certainly a Trojan horse for the ruling class to proceed with the next phase of its plans while having the perfect fall guy to tank the blame for them (which still makes him an obvious puppet and therefore, terrible).

Granted, he definitely had a streak of diplomatic and optical "oopsies", thanks to his marble-mouthed cognitive decline. Remember the time he literally showed Putin a list of targets not to attack? Pepperidge Farm remembers, even if 90 percent of people don't.
