Well, what about Jimmy Carter 2.0?
Same really. I mean, all I know about either one is their name. Infamy is not remembered, greatness is. If it weren't for being on the dollar bills, would the average person really remember Jefferson or Jackson? Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt I & II, then Kennedy, skip to Clinton followed by the rest, just because the modern generation still half-remembers them, those are the only memorable ones to the public.

I think you missed Reagan in there somewhere. After all, 80s-themed movies wouldn’t be 80s-themed movies without him, dontcha’ know? ;)

Plus, even if that’s what the current generation typically remembers, there can still be individual election cycles where certain comparisons gets hammered into voters’ heads to the point where they kinda-sorta stick, if only temporarily. (Again, I mention Republicans casting Biden as Carter 2.0, which brings back memories as the media churns out articles and video segments that “assess” the comparison.) Granted, I expect people to forget in a few years and blame whoever’s in office by then for their woes, show no signs of easing up anytime soon, as is.

Sometimes the memes just create themselves.

This actually real? Because, while I know anything is possible these days, people also have a tendency to edit headlines for comical effect. And by the looks of it, either could be true here.

No malarkey detected.

Indeed, though aside from his fan club, Paul's message has more often than not fallen on deaf ears. Pity people didn't listen, when they still had the chance to make things right.

I meant like miss him as a senator

He served in the House, actually. Three-time Representative from Texas, and the stalwart "Dr. No" who voted against so-called unconstitutional bills and railed against big government like no one else.

Yeah, Rand's still in there and carrying on dad's legacy somewhat. Whether he's able to "nudge" US politics a bit closer to his father's vision is anyone's guess.

Back in the day my dream presidency was Ross Perot/Ron Paul, But yeah Rand is not quite as Libertarian as his father was.

Ron's a free-enterprise-across-the-board kind of guy, though, so I'm not sure how they'd get along, when Perot wanted protectionism and more progressive taxation.

Sure, both are against the corporatist-regulatory complex and overwrought trade agreements we have now, but seeing as Paul wanted (and by the looks of it, still wants) to abolish most taxes, regulations, and encourage actual free trade, I don't think your dream ticket would "balance out" as well as you imagine it would.

Rand Paul is one of the only people calling themselves a Republican who I have no doubt actual does have this nations best interests at heart, and will never call a RINO. He's an old school libertarian-conservative and he is one of the few able to do shit like pull Fauci apart in front of the camera and go off-script against the GOP establishment

If we didn't need him so badly in the Senate, I'd love for him to run for POTUS.
