Your belligerent banter impresses precisely nobody down here, spacer. We see you. Can you see us, too? But, free folk, if you maintain your distance and remain peaceful, we shall answer in kind, and offer our hands in friendship. If you wish to trade, our markets will welcome you and the news you bring. Also, if you ever run afoul of the Dragon, know that you’ll have a safe harbor at Griffin's Roost.

Also, the 2 assault dropships should be burning hard for the jumpship, since, you know, "speak softly and carry on with assault dropships backed by organic ASF support"

Turn 30 - We Will Find You

You nod to the communications officer, who gets a positively feral grin on his face at this point.

“Your belligerence and banter is signally unimpressive, Spacer. We have eyes on you, do you have eyes on us? But, Free Folk, if you remain peaceful and do not threaten us, we will react in kind. If you wish to trade with us, know that we are not the Dragon, we will treat honorably with you so long as you return courtesy with courtesy.” a pause, and the comms officer nearly snarls into the mic. “And if the Dragon threatens you and yours, know that Griffin’s Roost stands with those who stand against House Kurita.”

You nod in approval as the response is sent back to the Jump Point.

You wait out the communications delay as Sarah engages in major analysis of the heavily modified Jumpship. Tactical analysis shows that the jumpship had, in the recent past, been attacked by a number of fighters with 5cm lasers consistent with DCMS Sabres.

A bit early for them to have heard the whole message and a response comes, and whoever is on the other side is mad.

“Vi kommer att krossa de moderlösa hororna och pissa på deras ruttnande lik. Vi kommer att mala deras ben och fläta deras hudar. Död känner jag för dem!” is practically shouted from the speakers.

Sarah rather tactfully translates this as ‘Very angry Swedish threatening brutal death to the Dracs’.

There’s a short pause. “Understood, Aerospace Control, we are always ready to kill some snakes.” the voice has calmed down some at this point. “Send a manifest of what you have to offer and we will do the same. Any attempt at betrayal will be met with force.”

[] Accept their trade offer. Griffin’s Roost will have +1% GDP gain, Nowy Gdansk +.5% GDP gain, will create a regular trade opportunity with the Free Folks, opens a new event chain

[] Decline their trade offer.

I like money, opportunities to make even more money via regular trade, and people who support the destruction of the Combine. Event chain might have some risks, but probably worth it.

(Unfortunately, all of the trade items are flat-packed and the hex wrenches are LosTech.)

Looks Like the Dracs are still up to their old tricks of making enemies of everyone everywhere they go. Maybe we can trade for information about Drac movement and locations as well.

So what may the volk want, need, and trade that we have?

1- Sounds like armor replacement, ammo, and possibly a few ASF, might be on the table if we offer them. (If they took losses and need replacement).

2- Fresh Food is always a boon.

3- Losttech is worth weight in geranium +some, but may not want to let that slip out.

On the subject of "what" I'd aim for fresh foods, especially chocolate, if we have a local source. If they're space vikings for real.. fancy cloth, personal grooming supplies, and cheap jewelry.

Otherwise, I agree with @PeaceMaker 03 's assessment above, let's not offer them LBX's and FFA just yet.

Just as a thought, include some toys, including stuffed tiger plushies, and keep it on the supply run. If\when docking is made, if it can be done in a non-threatening way, tell them, we have an additional bit, if they want to take the mass on. School supplies and clothes and toys for kids. (I just get the feeling that these are more a refugee fleet, and that their families are with them). There will be no surveillance or other cloak and dagger sneakiness on this either. No tracking beacons, or bugs, or anything. Deal with them from 100% honesty.
