That's neutral, and it's succinct since it's the royal bug-out ship. Besides, we're a large planet with centuries worth of history. Our first own ships should reflect that. McEvedy and the Wolverines, while being important due to their left-behinds now, make up only a small part of it.

Just a note, when naming the first exploration dropship class I put it to the discord, they chose Enterprise even after I informed them that if they did that it would be the USS Enterprise with red-shirted exploration teams.

I'm open to using HMS for actual military units, and USS for the explorers. *grins*

We're naming the Confederate Dropship the Wolverine descendents arrived on the planet in though, not something we built ourselves.

Naming it something other than a reference to the original owners seems kind of wrong due to that, at least to me.

Huh, had thought we were just suggesting names, not actually voting for the final name. I like McEvedy for a battleship, but I'm happy waiting until then.

That is why I suggested USS Logan, ( HMS Logan) a nod to Marvels “Wolverine “.

Do not want to agro the wrong group of traitors....

Talking of Wolverines, should our Mech DropShip class have been named the Hallis class instead of the Harris class, with Harris just being a typo?

Turn 29 - You Could Have A Steam Train

The first successful relief mission sets a pattern, as you use your small group of Dropships to ship supplies and materials to Griffin V. With USS Enterprise completing its survey work you can direct that she either join the relief effort or engage in the survey and exploration work she’s intended for.

[] Join Relief Effort - +1 Goodwill this turn
[] Remain available for exploration actions

Back on Griffin’s Roost things are proceeding apace, the major shakeup in the professional hovercraft racing league has seen viewership skyrocket as several formerly dominant teams are now seemingly unable to catch a break. The revelations about the depth of the corruption in the league has led to quite a few lawsuits, but things seem to be heading in a very positive direction.

Jeremy is in his final year at the Aerie and his MechEng class is hard at work on their final project, a design study on what an ‘ideal’ Heavy mech would be. You’ve gotten to see some of the work they're doing and it is quite impressive theorycrafting, although actually fielding such heavy mechs is a way in the future.

The twins are happily focusing on racing, although James likes to grumble about Quan having the faster hovercraft he’s won just as many races as his twin. They are now in the senior division, the Lee Cup. You checked, it had been called that from the start, so you can’t go and defenestrate Tyler over this.

You still call and threaten him with that.

Thanh is doing quite well in her classes and now that she’s actively working towards becoming a combat pilot much of the strain and conflict between you and her have eased. She’s still by far the most aggressive of your kids, but she’s maturing before your eyes as she goes through the Aerie.

Little Sarah is doing very well as well, top of her class and already accepted in Griffin’s Roost University on a full-ride merit academic scholarship in History.

Sekhmet had spent a few months away down on Capricorn and returned with her mate, Thoth, a massive male tiger, and pregnant with a new cub. Bastet, meanwhile, splits her time between the Aerie and the palace. Although she makes a point to be at every single one of the twins' races ‘standing guard’ on their haulers.

You decide to not twit Willis too much over hitting 50, because next year you’ll be hitting that milestone as well and don’t want to give him any ideas. That came to nothing as Tyler sent him a giant black balloon reading ‘Condolences On Being Over The Hill’. You and Willis both resolve to throw the old man out of the window as soon as the doctor’s give permission.

Damn doctor’s don’t give permission, although he’s a mighty spry 105 this year.

Damn old man.

The economy is doing extremely well through Q1, with the specter of immediate attack off the table corporations are investing heavily into growth and this is translating into very serious economic activity.

Amidst all this economic activity comes some interesting news from Pollux. Farmers there have been looking over conditions and it appears that the combination of the soil, rainfall patterns, drainage, and general overall conditions make this prime agricultural land, perhaps even more valuable for this than for regular economic exploitation.

They are proposing restricting development to agricultural work. This would be somewhat expensive, but could have some major benefits for population support.

[] Agree - +10 POP Limit immediately, Doubles benefit of Improved Agriculture. -1% GDP
[] Disagree - -5 Approval Change

Sarah is monitoring the system for any activity and so far it appears that the Dracs are keeping to their end of the bargain. Time will tell if this continues but for now it appears to be holding.

You spend several days down in Hue Moi at the Ngo family compound for a wedding, Sergeant-Major Thanh’s youngest sister is finally tying the knot and it is a beautiful celebration. It’s nice connecting with your adopted family, you spend plenty of time with them but it’s always good to have an excuse to spend more time down there.

While you are down there, though, there is a development on the deathopotamusaurus front, a large migration has begun which requires the Aerie Cadre to deploy on hippo herding detail. Jeremy is part of the force sent out and distinguishes himself by rescuing a classmate who’s Ambush got mired and was threatened with being trampled. Thankfully they are able to steer the herd away from settled areas over parts of the tunnel complex that have been completed, saving enormous amounts of money.

Interior is pretty stressed, so I am currently leaning towards not exploring this turn. This gives Enterprise something to do while that's happening, so fine with me.

[X] Agree - +10 POP Limit immediately, Doubles benefit of Improved Agriculture. -1% GDP

We have about 7 turns before this is an issue, but definitely do need more pop limit (especially given exponential growth means later effects delay for less long). This basically doubles the pop limit, but the second half is notably shorter in duration. The economic hit is big enough to be noticeable, but not enough that this isn't worth it.

I like the breadbasket idea. +12 POP Limit immediately, for -1% GDP.
Would very much like to do Griffin V surveys, but I'm okay with putting it off until we have spare Interior actions, and extra lift capacity is good.

So, because we only have a highly limited cargo capacity, assigning the USS Enterprise to relief efforts absolutely will help. It's either this or using it for its designed purpose of exploration, probably of Griffin V since that is where the new focus is. And yeah, we're gonna need that Pop Limit.
