I'm voting to hold back the McEvedy name references for our first battleship.

[X] USS Grant.
This is the name of the ship rather than it's class though, there's no reason we can't name this in honor of the Wolverines (rather than just throwing a random name out there, which honestly feels a bit disrespectful as this was their ship) as a nod to the 331st descendants and then years later design a proper McEvedy class Warship.

Since we're a TH colony, why not use something that stems more from that particular root?

Also, I still think there's a hidden catch left behind by the Kuritans. All that affair went off far too smoothly for my taste.

A View on the Ice Part 3

Michal sat back in his office chair going over the verdicts one last time they had finished the Trials for the collaborators the Court had pardoned some, others had been given limited sentences hard labour and confinement, though the rapists, the camp enforcers who work with the old Drac guard force, the traitors who sold people out and lived like kings and the other scum of the Earth had been executed.

They may have been slaves and abused by their jailers but, they were not animals and, he and the platoon who had come him were still members of the Armia Krajow they would not stoop to the level of mob justice if they could help it, that would bring them down to the level of the Dracs. Thankfully they had been able to with Misha, Old Leopold and his son Young Leopold groups help keep the collaborators from being strung up though it had been touch and go and he and his men had to break more than a few heads to stop people shanking them in their holding area.

There was a murmur of conversation as the door opened and, Sergeant Rowecki came in grinning like a schoolboy, "Their here Sev just took a call from the incoming on their ship the USS Harris they are almost on final approach."

"Let's go and meet them, Sergeant then," Michal said, "You informed Misha and Old Leopold about the incoming dropship?"

"Yes," Rowecki said, "As per standing orders I assembled a guard force from the militia to hold people along with a platoon to help distribute the supplies as well as an honour guard to greet them."

"Good job, Sergeant," Michal said with a small smile, "We've come up in the world."

They'd managed to throw together including his Platoon about a reinforced company of militia to keep the peace and generally support the people of their little colony they had no uniform but, they had managed to secure an armband with the symbol of the Armia Krajowa. So far they had done well in their training that his men had given but, they were no Winged Hussar Regiment he'd gone from a Podporucznik post to a Kapitan post and Rowecki is now in a Starszy Chorąży post.

"yes sir," Rowecki said, rubbing his face, "oh we identified another infiltrator."

"Let me guess he didn't speak polish," Michal said with a grimace.

"No, sir," Rowecki said, "bastards were arrogant thinking we wouldn't find them we made them say w Szczebrzeszynie chrząszcz brzmi w trzcinie along with the other phrase."

"We probably missed more than a few," Michal said, "but I'm sure this Kingdom will do there own sweep and turn up some more have the troopers keep looking."

"yes sir

They arrived in time and stood there and watched the dropship burn down just where Dracs used to come down. Michal stood on his right was Old Leopold, and his son both had tears in their eyes, He stood there with Rowecki in the centre and on his right stood Misha and Katlyn her aide who had been a doctor and had been working miracles with the limited resources the Dracs had left them.

Around there little leadership cadre was the honour guard his own platoon with editions from the best of their little militia as others had been made brevet lieutenants and Sergeants fill command and training positions.

As the backwash from the thruster finished, and the ramp came down, they saw a party with its own all heavily armed. They moved to meet them as he heard Rowecki calling out commands as if they were on a peacetime drill ground over the ice field keeping pace with the leadership cadre.

The stopped in front of the heavily armed group who paused for a moment, and Rowecki called out, "Parde by the front Salute."

His old platoon stopped and with a precision that would have done a training sergeant proud delivered a crisp salute.

"I greet you in the name of the Armia Karjow of Nowa Warszawa," Michal said and saluted, "I am Lieutenant Michal Sikorski commander of the local Armia Karjow and my aid Sergeant Rowecki."

Michal indicated the still crying Leopold who was unable to speak, "this is Leopold Chrusciel representative of labours and in charge of labour, supply and distribution and his Young Leopold who acts as his aide."

Misha then took over introducing herself, "I am Misha Fieldorf I represent the women and medical concerns of our people. This is my aide, Doctor Katlyn."

The other man nodded, and the in flawless polish said, "I am Jake Mroczkiewicz Advisor to Her Majesty and representatives of Griffins Roost I have supplies and medical staff onboard tell me where you need them to go, and we will start with your people distributing them after that we can sit down and have a talk."

Michal smiled and said, "Of course we have a meeting room already set up."

Depends if they are majority, poles and are all fluent speakers then they may have figured out who the infiltrator and deal with them.

As for collaborators they will possibly be strung up before we get there.

Make them pronounce "w Szczebrzeszynie chrząszcz brzmi w trzcinie" to filter plants from Real Poles (TM). :D Also ask if there's any Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz from village of Chrząszczyrzewoszyce, powiat (district) Łękołody among them...
:D :D

Edit: also, you should use "Armia Krajowa" in all instances unless you use declination - "odmiana przez przypadki" - no direct equivalent in English, but generally:
"this" (indicative) Armia Krajowa
"of / about" Armii Krajowej.
"with (this)" Armią Krajową.

Feel free to ask if you wish proper Polish forms.
:)

I rather dislike DEST being so incompetent they use infiltrators that can't speak Polish. You can judge the worth of a man by the quality of his enemies and all that.

Hopefully these infiltrators are actually just meant to be caught to throw us off and the real spies are hidden better.

Sunhawk's statement was basically: they're being sent because they have to be sent, but the ISF director knows he's not getting them back. As such, only agents he doesn't care about are being sent (meaning - those completely incompetent in ISF politics or relatively incompetent in actual utility)

Counterintelligence action was brought up. The description of it doesn't really seem applicable here, but not a bad idea to include it.
