Let’s hope so.
Reminds me of Wayne Palmer on the FOX TV Show "24" who served only 3 months as President (anybody watched that show before ?).

When Wayne had that stroke during the press conference, VP Noah Daniels became President for good (after Wayne died off-screen) & finished out the remainder of Wayne's term.

1. Few diversity checkboxes in one.
2. Insurance policy - if democrats hate her, they aren't going to want to make her the president instead of Joe. Which with a popular and competent VP could be a big temptation.

1. All too true.
2. There's insurance policies...and then there are suicide pacts...

Guys.......if Harris becomes President, who becomes VP?

From the 25th amendment:

1. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President. 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

Yes, Harris would pick someone and the house and Senate would need to vote and confirm them.
AKA a handpicked pawn of Pelosi, unless it happens after a (not certain) 2022 red wave.

However that runs into Kamala still then being about to run in 2028, if it only happens after 2022.

And if 2022 sees an...engineered blue wave....nothing good happens.

BREAKING: U.S. Troops Wounded in Suicide Bombing in Afghanistan as Biden Hides

President Joe Biden’s disaster in Afghanistan just got worse.

On Thursday, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby confirmed that an explosion took place at the Kabul airport in Afghanistan where thousands gathered to evacuate the country.

“We can confirm an explosion outside Kabul airport. Casualties are unclear at this time. We will provide additional details when we can,” he posted on Twitter.

According to Fox News, three American troops were injured in the attack thanks to Biden. Breitbart reports:
Fox News reported shortly after the news broke of the explosion that reports indicate at least three American military members were injured in the attack. The attack also reportedly prompted rapid gunfire exchanges which may be ongoing at press time.
Journalists from the region have begun sharing images allegedly of the immediate aftermath of the explosion. Local reports indicate the explosion occurred in a densely populated part of the airport, potentially causing a large number of casualties.

Just like how Biden's 'Reconstruction package' (or whatever the hell it was called) wouldn't pass?

Just noticed this....

The difference is that HR4 can't be passed as part of the same kind of spending trick. It HAS to pass the currenty filibuster vote, which is 60 votes.

NOW, they might try and rejigger the rules in the Senate, but that would be a HUGE problem with the split Senate.

Like I said earlier this is how an entire administration dies. Mark my words and you can quote me on it. Not a single member of that administration from the lowly mail clerk to the Senile in Chief will be left by the end of September. And yes that includes Kamala. She already admitted earlier this year she was a key figure in the Afghanistan withdrawal plan of this sham of an Administration.

Now lets see what happens in the Senate.

Pelosi's clown house has passed a lot of bullshit like this that went nowhere once it hit the Senate.
I doubt HR4 will pass b/c it will need 60 votes in the Senate. I'm praying stupidity doesn't happen.
Just like how Biden's 'Reconstruction package' (or whatever the hell it was called) wouldn't pass?

Reconcilation, and that is able to go through because they don't need 60 votes to pass, they just need 51 under the rules (that's an over simplified version). But reconciliation ONLY applies to actual budget items, which is why the Senate parliamentarian (the person who referees points of order and procedure) told them the $15 an hour minimum wage they tried stuffing in doesn't count.

It didn't, not yet, and there is a key Dem (Simena? for AZ) against it in the 'reconciliation' process between the House and Senate versions. The House version was the 'Woke Unicorn' version, the Senate version was the 'actual infrastructure issues' version, and now they are trying to get the two versions to mesh.

If they cannot, neither version actually takes effect, IIRC.

The Senate, particularly moderate Dems like Manchin, have actually put more brakes on Biden that the GOP in DC have lately.

Eh, Sinema more than Manchin, really, when it comes to spending. What you have to remember is, being a minority party, they can't do much to overrule Democrats on spending without some help. However, the bills to change voting laws and such HAVE been blocked because the Republicans refuse to go along with them and 60 votes are needed. So saying "they're useless" completely ignores 1) the fact that they are blocking shit that shouldn't be passed and 2) there is only so much they can do as a minority. Oh, and 3) This is why McConnell was absolutely right to tell Trump to go fuck himself when Trump was screaming at him to nuke the legislative filibuster, because if it had been then things like HR 1 and HR 4, plus packing the court and voting to make DC a state would have sailed through with the Republicans powerless to actually stop the brakes.

Hoping Sinema and Manchin put the brakes on stuff is a very dangerous move, because they're Democrats and really don't give a fuck what conservative voters think per se, but rather what they think they can get away with in terms of what their voters will tolerate.

Harris would have to nominate a VP pick & the shortlist might range from United States Senators or Governors IF Uncle Joe is NOT able to finish out his term.

What's even more fun is that said pick would likely be way more popular than she herself is. Biden's approval is current at 46%. Harris is at 37%.

Then it sets off a civil war in the Democratic Party because the two of them will be fighting over who should be the nominee.

Honestly Biden winning 2020 is a net positive for conservatives, because it's as much a wake up call to at least heed the grass roots while at the same time reconciling with the establishment GOP and the more independent minded voters, as well as reaching out more to minorities.

Wonder if the ticket for 2024 would be DeSantis/Stefanik? The latter is kind of young for it, but she's also from New York so the only other potential option she has is to run for governor -and given that she's said a lot of favorable stuff about Trump I doubt that she'd be able to really win statewide, sadly.*

*-Personally I think she is important as a face of the GOP going forward but I think being in New York her options are kind of limited.

Let's see this is NOT a good year for Dems:
1.) Cuomo of NY St: Resigns in disgrace.

2.) Newsom of CA: 😓

3.) Murphy of NJ is like 😯

4.) Uncle Joe: Hold my beer!

I got notification Biden will campaign for CA Governor Gavin Newsom (D).
