The Chinese puffing their chests and saying they're better than the U.S.? Well, I suppose it's kind of amusing that they think it but hey, they're entitled to their delusions.

Mind you I think Biden is an idiot, but all this hand-wringing over China eating our lunch? You might want to step away for a few. They're just assholes with a massive inferiority complex.

It's not heroin, that doesn't mean it's good. This is kinda off topic so I'll leave it at that. Weed debate thread would be interesting though, guessing we have a couple different viewpoints here.

Weed isn't bad at all, is no where near a 'poison' like Reefer Madness types believe, actually has many legit medical benefits, can replace wheat flour in baking while having more firm a texture, and is better for the body than booze.

Even with the lungs it doesn't hurt them the way tabacco does; it doesn't dry the lungs out or lodge in them, it just caused increased mucus production which is easy to hack up and spit out.

Active THC also flushes from the body and receptors in about 3 days, so it's hard to build up a tolerance unless you smoke heavily, daily.

And as a historical tidbit, Jewish preists during Biblical times actually anointed each other with hemp oil, and the only difference between hemp and cannabis is the THC percentage.

Well, the establishment is revealing its weakness at home and abroad. That's not a good recipe. This just smacks of an elite who don't/refuse to understand the changing world and have dug their heels in instead of moving with the times. They did everything to delay American nationalism, to preserve globalism just that bit longer, and all they have to show for it is the appearance of weakness and corruption. Even worse, they seem to be trying to mix that with tyranny.

Unlike the Optimates of the Roman Republic, they don't even have tradition to fall back on. They're fucked in the long term.

Enjoy your taste of power whilst it lasts, Democrats. Would it really have been so hard to still be corrupt fucks in a world with borders?

It's not any worse than alcohol. In the end, mildly mind altering substances and relaxants are good for you. You need a way to properly reduce stress levels once in a while. The problem is that most people don't know how to use them responsibly. Smoking weed as a lifestyle is not good for you, just like being an alcoholic isn't, but if you smoke a bit when relaxing among friends once or twice a month, is not going to have a negative impact on your body.

I'm speaking as someone who fooled around just a bit with these things in the past, and found that I did not enjoy it. Beer is my preferred relaxant. As long as you have some sort of way to wind down once in a while, more than your body can naturally do, you're golden. If someone chooses weed as their favored substance, let them (if they abuse and overuse it, that's another matter. Responsibility is key).

Your body is not really a temple, and you're not a monk (unless you are, in which case: sucks to be you. And even monks drank beer). Live a little.
