Armchair General's DonbAss Derailed Discussion Thread (Topics Include History, Traps, and the Ongoing Slavic Civil War plus much much more)

1. Are we still talking about current Russia or WW2 Russia?
2. I'm not so sure about that one should the war keep on grinding.

There was not such thing like WW2 Russia - it was soviets.Russians which survived fought on Hitler side. And died with him.
BUT - some soviet in those times still belived.Adding barrier troops,if current Ukraine fought WW2 soviets, soviets would win .On mountain of soviets corpses, but they would win.
But now Ukraine fight cosplayers who do not belive in soviet shit, and few remaining fanatics would not be enough.

2.Both sides get that. And kgbstan would run first, becouse they fight to rape and steal wasmachines, when ukrainians fight for their families.
Of course,as long as USA would paid for weapons for them, becouse germans certainly would keep financing Putin war.
Remember - Ukraine do not fight only kgbstan, but its germans and french allies, too.Which would keep helping senpai Putin no matter what.

When USA could sell Ukraine to Moscov.

As if the Russians and Chinese aren't constantly conducting operations like that against us. :cautious: You seem to forget that Russia had pilots in planes fighting our pilots in Korea, just as an example.
They did it rather discreetly in Korea without owning up to it because to officially be involved means escalation and a diplomatic embarrassment.
I mean, you act like this is new
Answer the question.

This isn't something new.
That should answer your question
That is an answer of dismissal not an answer of affirmation or disagreement.
It was not very discreet. Everyone knew it was them. At least on the other side. They kept the bullshit up mostly for domestic and ally propaganda purposes.
It was good enough to not escalate tensions more than it should when Mao wanted the full package and hated only getting pilots but not boots on the ground like he did.

And that's another case bullshit maneuvering around frenemies.
The west has its own version of that with Germany and company trying to stand in the middle, be proponents of peace at any cost, and stand with Ukraine, all at the same time, but its a somewhat different dynamic where attempting this specific deception would have little point.

Germany should avoid cucking, TBH. It's its Manifest Destiny to pull Ukraine out of Russia's orbit, after all. It did it in 1918, 1941-1944, and again in 2014-present.

Looks like Biden is trying to skimp on the HIMAR rounds for Ukraine, and seems more and more concerned about not allowing/enabling strikes on Russian soil than actually helping Ukraine end this war. Particularly given Russia has no right to complain about strikes on their soil by Ukraine after all they've done.

The Americans are being smart for once. An American rocket used to kill Russian civilians will be a major escalation.

Well, guess that means some of the old Warsaw Pact countries need to start selling Ukraine a bunch more long range fires.

Russia does not get to act like it can bomb and invade others and still feel it's own territory is somehow sacred, and turning anything useful to Russia in Kursk or Belgorod into rubble, the same way the Russians have done to Mariupol, would be justified.

Edit: I mean at this point, Ukraine has every justification for whacking any Russian industry in range of their weapons, and making sure Russia knows that it's homeland will not be safe till their troops withdraw.

Stop clutching your pearls for a moment, and consider how many American civilians were killed by Russian\Soviet manufactured weapons over the last 2 decades.
With honorable mention of Russia deploying fucking nerve gas on the territory of a certain major, nuke armed NATO country and killing civilians with it.
Where is the major, wait, no, rockets are a major escalation, where is the humongous escalation for this?
Guess being worried about escalation is something for western cucks to do, KGB chads just handwave away such stupid concerns.

I mean russia won't do shit.
The US has come our and sais they helped sink the Moskva. Have gone out and said they have done Vyber operations.
Have had US made equipment kill plenty of Russians.
The likely hood of the Ukrainians using the HIMARS for attack on civie center is so small I laugh.

@Bacle most likely only what has been told publicly.

You'll understand when some country uses a russian supplied anti-shipping missile to sink an american warship.

That's still one 1-2 reloads per battery at this point, which is rather anemic compared to what HIMARs need to be truly effective in the long run.
Training most likely.
The US wont reveal how many are actually sent till well after they have seen combat
You'll understand when some country uses a russian supplied anti-shipping missile to sink an american warship.
The last time someone sank a US ship we nuked them.

Russia hasn't done shit and we helped sink the Moskva.
Our missles we supplied has killed countless Russians.
As well our artillery shells.

Russias been selling hardware across the globe like us, you’d need to be specific.

And you assume the missile would sink the warship. USN warships are pretty damn resilient. Not to mention they can shoot back.

He's probably talking about the time Russian supplied Iranian SAMs took out an American Stealth Bomber back in 2019 over Tehran.

Later it turned out to be a Ukranian Airliner filled with Canadian-Iranian Civilians but the point remains valid I feel. 😏

EDIT:

There was also the time a Russian SAM took out a Ukrainian transport aircraft in 2014. It was loaded with Dutch Subversives/Mercenaries or something IIRC.

You'll understand when some country uses a russian supplied anti-shipping missile to sink an american warship.
Cheap fearmongering to the uninformed.
For comparison, China has been supplying anti ship missiles to everyone willing to pay since decades, and some of these were fired at US and ally warships and even civilian ships.
What was done to China in retaliation?
And no, Russia is not being more careful with their sales either.
Come on, they already let fucking Hezbollah get those missiles.

Long story short, fearmongering that Russia will escalate to doing things... that it is already doing since a long time is not very credible and really supports the other side's point in principle.

U.S. Officials Admit They Have Lied About Ukraine Success and Russian Failures

Told you so. The U.S. and NATO have been lying about what is actually taking place on the ground in Ukraine. For those not familiar with my early writings on the actual situation, go back a look at my previous articles written in March– Is Russia on the Ropes in Ukraine? and Update on the Military Situation in Ukraine.

NBC News, not known as a pro-Putin media outlet, published this bombshell this week:

It was an attention-grabbing assertion that made headlines around the world: U.S. officials said they had indications suggesting Russia might be preparing to use chemical agents in Ukraine.
President Joe Biden later said it publicly. But three U.S. officials told NBC News this week there is no evidence Russia has brought any chemical weapons near Ukraine. They said the U.S. released the information to deter Russia from using the banned munitions.

It’s one of a string of examples of the Biden administration’s breaking with recent precedent by deploying declassified intelligence as part of an information war against Russia. The administration has done so even when the intelligence wasn’t rock solid, officials said, to keep Russian President Vladimir Putin off balance. . . .
Just this week, national security adviser Jake Sullivan stood at the White House podium and read out what officials said was more declassified intelligence, asserting that Russia’s pullout from areas around Kyiv wasn’t a retreat but a strategic redeployment that signals a significant assault on eastern and southern Ukraine, one that U.S. officials believe could be a protracted and bloody fight.
NBC makes a desperate try to put lipstick on this pig and call it Marilyn Monroe, i.e. a thing of beauty and brilliance, but the bottomline is stark and simple–the U.S. Government lied to the American people and acheived NOTHING to change the tactical and strategic picture on the ground in the Donbas. This information did nothing to unbalance Putin or his military command. Instead, they grinded the defenders of Mariupol into dust and are reclaiming steadily territory in the Donbas that Ukraine once controlled. I am sure the United States cannot survive many more “successful” intelligence operations like the ones they have backed so far.

Jake Sullivan’s confirmation that Ukraine did not defeat the Russians and force them from Kiev speaks volumes. I would remind you that Andrei Martyanov, Scott Ritter, Doug MacGregor and I analyzed the Russian tank columns positioned north of Kiev as a feint that pinned key Ukrainian forces around Kiev while the Russians carried out a strategic redeployment to the Donbas to work on destroying entrenched Ukrainian troops.

If you think the West has learned its lesson and opted to focus on truth, think again. Germany’s Economy Minister, Robert Habeck, was peddling these whoppers to his own government this week:

Western sanctions in response to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine are still taking a heavy toll on the Russian war machine. . . .The Russian economy is collapsing,” . . . adding that Germany had played its part here by reducing exports to Russia in March by 60%, with an even sharper fall expected in April.
The obvious question for any reporter with the brain power of a cretin would be, “what is the evidence that Russia’s economy is collapsing?” The truth is that all sectors are firing on all cylinders. Just because Germany has decided to commit economic hari kari by declining to purchase cheap Russian oil, does not mean that Russia is bleeding out financially. The Economist reported two weeks ago that Russia is running a record trade surplus.

Yes, Russia is importing fewer Mercedes and BMWs via the open market. First, Russia is not dependent on having western luxury items filling western owned stores. Second, the Russian mafia is more than willing to fill the gap and obtain such goods via the black market. Seems like the West never learns.

Habeck also forgets the first rule of crisis management–when you are in a hole, stop digging. He made this even more outlandish claim:

Moscow had lost access to parts crucial to its ability to fight the war, . . . such as “security updates for airplanes, with the result that the planes will soon be grounded”.
He apparently did not get the briefing, widely available in the public domain, that Russia builds it own planes, rockets, space ships and tanks. Putin did not outsource critical industry to China or Mexico. Reality will remind the United States and its crazy European allies that Russia is the only superpower with a self-sufficient economy. The economy of Russia is not dependent on having a Russian version of Rodeo Drive filled with overpriced baubles.

Not sure if this is the right thread, so feel free to move if necessary.

I vote alternate history.

If an all-star gallery of notorious shills says so it must be true.
