The purges of the old guard are still ongoing.
Political realinments are not fun, and a whole lot of people have to go because they have not and can not adjust to new paradimes. That said the left is speeding that process up and creating more and more enemies who oppose them its not going to be fun but the coalition that will hold them accountable is being built right now.
I honestly think that come a red wave we will see retaliation for all of this.
At some point you have no choice but punish this kind of behavior because if you dont you invite more of it.

We're not quite there yet. The US - like me - is extremely resilient and has a tendency to complety ingore injuries for quite some time right up to the moment when "now some shit's about to go down".

I'm glad they did it.
It increased support for Trump, exposed them as being on a witch hunt, and did absolutely nothing to further the goals they had set out to achieve with this.
In fact, they acheived quite the opposite. This turned into a win for Trump, topped off with the FBI raid. Trump is fully justified in claiming they are coming after him with a nefarious witch hunt, and we just got all the proof we needed.
It also torpedo'd Liz Cheney's political career, which is worth it on it's own.
Seeing the Dems allying with the Cheney family was one of the more bizarro things to come out of Trump's time in office.
