I'm honestly not sure what you think I was deflecting from, so yeah I guess I'm saying it's not. You're trying to say
isn't deflecting? Then again, you're not here to debate so much as you are to preach.
Not the wording I'd use, and I suspect we disagree on details, but in a sense yes."Orange Man Bad" is no excuse for scientific malpractice.
Unless you mean that the scientists were afraid to speak up, because it would get them attacked by the anti-Trump people?
I think there's ample evidence and testimony that trumps bad behaviour stretches back long before he ever became president and thrust himself into the centre of the media circus. Also, mistreatment of trumps "allies" as often as not comes from trumps own quarter. Steve Bannon and John Bolton copped it pretty rough.Of course. He was getting shat on non-stop by people who are objectively worse than him morally speaking. So much so that scientists were literally refusing to do their jobs either for fear of the people who hate Trump or because they're just as bad as those people. If you want an example of this happening, look at the creator of Five Nights at Freddy's. Because he's a republican and donated to republicans he's been threatened and there are doxx attempts for his home and pregnant wife. In fairness to the scientist, fears of being subjected to similar ordeals may be the primary example they kept quiet and it would be very understandable.
As I said before, I want to emphasis that for five years Trump was relentless and ever increasingly intensely smeared by the media, Hollywood elite, social media giants etc. That all adds up. A "comedian" held up a bloodied replica of his dismembered head and people cheered for it. I don't think you give due credit to what the constant bombardment of "Orange man bad," agitprop has on people and how they perceive Trump. It's literal brainwashing.
I disagree that anti-Trump sentiment is a result of the media coverage in a meaningful way. Rather I believe that strong and fairly widespread dislike for Trump exists and the media pander to that to a degree. Or a large part of mainstream media anyway.
