Quite a few serial killers are like that, and I know a few bangers who told me they were in it for the money and the thrills. Ironically those bangers for some reason hurt a lot less people and did a lot more for the community then the ones who told every one they were down for the hood.

Maybe it’s the lack of delusion, the sort of delusion that would give them a “passion” to keep hurting others for some inane cause

It helps give a sort of pragmatism, at most they’re probably in it for their own survival or some friends and family they have to pay the bills for....if there were another way they’d take it and know the latter aren’t exactly approving and hell awaits

I can see why it could work provided you don't know how fighting in war occurs for young impressionable people.

Course when you read history you'll know better than to take "adventures" overseas most of the time.

There’s also the Ayn Rand definition of “Altruism” which essentially means to give up your mind for the sake of others or some greater cause or movement

Scary thing is the human mind can be susceptible to that despite what people say about disagreeing with what people do this and that.

Makes me appreciative of my life sometimes. I may grumble about my 9-5 job but it's better than the naive idiots deciding going on a jihad was fun.

The scary bit though is if all the shit in the middle East coming to where I live figuratively. What will I really do? Cower? Keep my head down which I am already doing playing video games to pass the time or become more vengeful?

Why? Because the stuff you enjoy would be considered “immoral” for things like the number of insufficiently covered women as well as whatever shit they can make up.

Like that one religious figure who I think banned chess or said that women driving ruins their ovaries somehow and people actually listened and followed.

Do NOT underestimate the love of Western Decadence(I include the entertainment of other nations influenced like Japan as counting)people have. Take away their waifu’s and they will be pissed.

I'm here mostly because of the expose thread as, to be quite honest, it was an absolute farce and was a staggering display of the either ineptitude of the SB staff or they were using it to do a political purge. That they left the thread up and open for people to work themselves into a mob frenzy is jaw dropping. I made a post pointing out how someone posted some kind of folk song about over throwing racism, fascism or some idiotic crap was cringy and how it's just a science fiction forum, I got a warning. I argued against the absurdity of it and was given a reduced penalty and after some what? Eighty or hundred or whatever pages of relentless hysterics, I made another post pointing it out, got banned from the thread for light flaming by a second mod, saying that I was already warned about flaming and I just couldn't bother with it any more. I also think they were looking to have people apply for Amicus positions after.

Then, not even two weeks later some absolute excuse for a self respecting human being made a post talking about how unsafe they felt because a mod used the name of some famous Nazi tank commander (when he was very young and didn't really understand that it would be a big deal). I'm waiting for them to start turning and purging people who "liked" posts by the "Nazis" in the PM or some such garbage.
