Are they Hipsters really? I can see the overlap, but I am not sure that Hipsters are the same thing as that crowd. Hipsters are tryhards and trendchases, they act non-conformist, but are the most conformist of all. So I am not 100% sure it is fair to call them Hipsters, Hipsters want fake social currency, while the people you refer want power in my opinion.

Well, maybe it’s more accurate to say they’re the “Cool Kids” who once looked down on “Nerd Culture” before it “became cool” and proceeded to wreck and invade the place
Even get some of the inhabitants to hurt the others, they only came though because “it’s in season” for now
Social Currency and Power can almost be the same thing. Getting lots of likes can give a rush, and in some cases consistently getting likes means you have power over others.
Not sure that these were even the "Cool Kids" probably people with delusions of this, and marginal popularity, but I think the actual cool kids have better things to do. But yes, they didn't invade until Nerds built up the place and tentatively invited others in.
And yes, they did invade and wreck the place. They were allowed and even to a degree welcomed in and then acted like horrible guests/roommates/etc. If you think of things in the ancient sense it could be seen as a breach of Xenia or any of the other hospitality codes. What good person upon entering into another's house, or being welcomed into the household tears it down to the foundations?

I’m pretty sure our sister sites and fanfics and fanart are necessarily a show of how popular certain franchises actually are amongst fandoms. Hell, I hear that plenty don’t even like Kamala Khan and Carl Manvers(not me)

And the same sort of people who worship the ugly, the grotesque, the abhorrent, etc and claim that they are artists. Art should be creating something beautiful, even when it is portraying the ugly, the grotesque, the abhorrent and so on.

I don't even particularly like trump I find him obnoxious but they get on my ass because I point out that censorship is a bad idea, that due process protects every one and I like the idea of being able to defend my synagogue with a loaded shot gun if things get dicy just like my grandpa did.

Seriously when storm front was a thing the FBI could just sit down watch them, ocasionally make posts to convince people not to do anything crazy and head off violent attacks before they happened because well...actual neo nazi's are not very smart and like to brag about shit their going to do to feel big.
When they got rid of stormfront the single biggest inteligence goldmine we had on hate groups went with it. It litterally fucked up a whole lot of ongoing investigations and made every one less safe.

It would actually be remarkably easy to humiliate ISIS/ISIL in a “debate” and repeatedly pointing out how stupid they are and how they should instead of living in some hot desert country in a cave with primitive tech, they should be trying to get to play Minecraft or something like drawing their own art
