Your comments about the Founders not wanting a standing army reminded me of the fact that Douglas MacArthur almost became the Emperor of America when Truman cucked on China.

Like he had a personality cult strong enough that it nearly happened without his consent and it was only his biliary cirrhosis and old age that I think calmed him down and walked us all back from the precipice.
