Trump Investigations Thread

You're forgetting that a) he's already leveraged to the hilt and b) he's been found liable for fraudulently overstating property valuations.

Any bank who lends him money will be asked a whole bunch of very uncomfortable questions by the bank regulators.
I like how you're fine with judicial corruption and weaponizing the court system because of your TDS. :sneaky:

Speaking of judicial corruption:

A discussion on the absurdity of the defamation case.

No evidence of any wrong doing actually occurring.

Interesting points:
Judge forced Trump's attorney to disclose all of her questions to Trump to the judge prior to Trump's time on the stand.
Judge forced Trump's attorney to disclose what Trump was going to say in response to those questions.
Judge then edited both the attorney's questions and what Trump was allowed to say.

So, what can be done about it? Can a higher court overturn it? Will they?
I honestly don't know.

The entire thing is completely utterly insane and probably unprecedented when it comes to lawfare.

As I understand it, the lady made a accusation, Trump denied it, is then sued for denying it, the judge refused to let him defend himself in any way or present any evidence to the jury, the jury is from a area that hates Trump, find him guilty and fined 83 million dollars.

It's probably more complicated than that. But that's as I understand it. Plus it looks like there was all kinds of corruption behind the scenes with the judge, prosecution, and government.

The only thing I can think of to respond to this would be to counter sue from a crazy pro Trump area with a judge that is super pissed about how the justice system has been twisted.

But I don't know if that would ever happen as that means descending to their level and making the justice system even more of a joke.

And most conservatives are hamstrung by playing fairly by the rules while the left cheats and laughs. So they are better people but the left gets to do whatever the hell it wants.

It's just a absolute mess and only undermines society even more.

That doesn't work forever an Iron clad rule of politics is the rule of retaliation what you do to others will in time be done to you.

The Fani Willis disqualification hearing is happening right now, you can watch it below with commentary.

One of the key things is that if there is a DQ, a whole new DA team has to get on the trial, and since it's in Georgia, chances are they drop the charges as they are probably a republican.

EDIT: new post lunch stream:

So what was the outcome?
The hearing isn't even done yet. They are going to resume Fani Willis' testimony this morning, and there won't be a decision today.

Live stream for today:

Why did I use Nate the Lawyer? Because he's one of the best court/jury prognosticators, consistently guessing what the court will do correctly.

Watching it, I don't like the odds for Trump. I think there's a very good chance that the DQ doesn't happen. There's not been a knock out blow yet.

In a perfect world, yes, the DQ would happen. But Nate the Lawyer had some good points about how the judge (like any judge) has to work with the local DA, and that could influence things.

I think the big aspect is that they have outright lied on stand.
And the judge even said he would potentially strike down her testimony

And a MAJOR fuck up by Fani Willis' Team. Completely unforced.

First, a quick character list so this all makes sense:

WitnessRelationship
Fani WillisFulton County DA who's authority is being used to prosecute Trump. The hearing is about Disqualifying her.
Nate WadeA special prosecutor hired to do the actual prosecution of Donald Trump. He was in a relationship with Fani Willis.
Terrence BradleyFriend and lawyer for Nate Wade

Basically, right now the defense (that's Trump's side) is trying to show that Fani Willis' and Nathan Wade's romantic relationship existed for a while, ideally prior to 2022. This matters because Nathan Wade lied on one of his divorce affidavits about if he was in a romantic relationship.

Now they want to ask a friend of Wade's, Terrence Bradley, about if Wade discussed his relationship with Fani Willis. But Terrence Bradley was also Wade's lawyer in Wade's divorce case. And so during all of Terrence Bradley's testimony, he claimed Attorney-Client privilege regarding any romantic relationship between Wade and Willis.

But crucially, Attorney Client privilege only attaches on stuff done as an attorney, not as a friend, etc. So if Wade told Bradley when they were out to drink about what he did with Willis, that could pierce the privilege.

Now at one point Bradley left Wade's law firm because of misconduct, but claimed the misconduct would hit Attorney-Client privilege. This got brought up by the defense (remember, Trump's side is still the defense side, as this is all part of Trump's trial).

Then, for some reason, the State (Willis' side) on cross examination, asks about the misconduct, and asks if that misconduct happened because of an alleged sexual assualt. Bradley says yes. And they discuss this for a time. This was the major fuck up. Because that has nothing to do with attorney client privilege, despite his previous claim! Suddenly all of Bradley's claims of Attorney Client Privilege come into question because if he did it wrong this time, who knows if he got it wrong/lied other times? More, suddenly Bradley becomes hostile to Wade, because wtf did you expose that on national TV?

And now there's going to be specialized witness testimony, which happens in camera (which means in private, so we can't watch it). The whole point of this is to preserve attorney client privilege. But that in camera interview can become admissible testimony, depending on what is found out. And this admission opens the door for a lot more probing.

Basically, there's a massive unforced error by the State. This could damn them, but I don't know yet.
