Huh... glad to see the fbi taking threats against law enforcement so seriously.

Shame they didn't when the Supreme Court was ruling on roe v wade and they were getting all kinds of threats. Did anyone even get charged for any of that? I can't remember.

no one....yet.

The reaction to all of this is starting but its just starting the real crazy shit is going to take decades to pop off.

…In a sane world, a statement like that from the presiding judge would be enough to get any ruling thrown out on appeal.
That article is abridging what the judge actually said to make him look biased. Here's what he actually said to Alina Habba:

"I'm not here to hear what he has to say. I'm here to hear him answer questions. Sit down already." - Judge Engoron

He was getting upset with Trump's tendency to give long-winded responses that didn't address the question Trump had been asked.

... that is literally part of cross examining the defendant. If you can't keep him on track as the prosecutor it is your fault. We have rules for this type of thing.

*sigh*

It's part of the judge's job to keep everyone on topic. This includes telling a witness to, in more polite terms, "Stop dicking around and wasting the court's time. Answer the damn question."

A judge doesn't want to hear a dissertation when a simple "yes" or "no" will suffice.

No, the prosecution asks if they can treat the person, the defendant in this case, as a hostile witness. This allows things like leading questions and cutting off the answer from the prosecution's side.

If the prosecution does not do this, it is their failure.

My cliff's notes understanding of what was going on:

Trump: <<goes on a tangent>>
Prosecution: "Can you please get to the point?"
Defense: "Objection! Let him bloviate."
Judge: "Overruled."

incorrect. The prosecutor wasn't objecting. The judge was stepping in before an objection was made. not a common thing at all. Bluntly between that and how the judge reacted when the motion for a mistrial was put forth it really shows how Biased he has been. Reacting like he did to it makes it seem like it actually has teeth to it. This is just gonna be red meat to the Trump base and be taken as further evidence of how the justice system is breaking it's norms just to get the orange man. not good for maintaining the legitimacy of the court. I don't think many big businesses are gonna want to stay in NYC after this. or real estate investors. or banks.
