Trump Investigations Thread

Appeals Court has granted a Stay in judgements of the NY Fraud case against President Trump.

Going to look at the fact that Judge told Trump to dissolve his businesses even though that wasn't even part of what the prosecution was looking for.
It's not big of a win for Trump. All it does is stay the dissolution of his companies pending appeal.

It does not delay or halt the trial nor does it do anything about the "liable for fraud" part of the summary judgment. That's what Trump's lawyers were actually shooting for.

In fact, the AG's response to this filing by Trump's lawyers sorta had "meh, we're ok with delaying the dissolution of his companies" as part of it.

It's not just the delay, but whether or not the judgement was even sound.

Once that's decided THEN Trump's lawyers can go to work on appealing the decision on all sorts of grounds.

Calling it a "big win" when practically the only immediate thing they got out of the stuff they asked for was something the other side didn't oppose is disingenuous spin.

Trump and his spokespeople do that frequently.

I wonder where this'll go:

"Highly problematic": Ex-Trump CFO's testimony abruptly halted after he's accused of perjury

The article Forbes published yesterday referenced in the above link:

EDIT: Two things of note here:
1) Forbes magazine is the one making the accusation, not the NY AG.
2) Allen Weisselberg is a co-defendant in the NY civil fraud case.

LOL, really stretching it here.
First, he mocks Hamas by calling the hummus, its a decent joke. I don't really see what is wrong here.
Then he calls hamas smart, it is incredibly disingenuous to describe acknowledging the strength of an enemy as praise.
The last one, I don't know the context of, but he's long had the attitude of telling allies that just because they are allies does not mean they get a free ride.
This is dumb. Simply using a similar allegory, especially one as fundamental as "poisoning the blood" does not create a quote.

Lmao when Trump walks Binta's inversion of all his smug posts will be hilarious.

Never trust a career professional ever.
One things for sure: the Forbes reporter just attracted the attention of the NY AG's Office.

He published the perjury accusation while Weisselberg was still testifying. I suspect he's about to get served with a subpoena telling him to provide the evidence supporting his accusation that he mentioned he had in his article.

TDS gotta TDS, mang.

Let us not lose sight of all the other ways that Donnie in the news. So far in just a week Trump also has managed to quote Mein Kampf, call Hamas hummus, praise Hezbollah, and attack Israel.
Hamas is smart. Recognizing that your enemy is smart is not praising them.

Dumb people don't pull off coordinated attacks like Hamas did.

Don't underestimate your enemies.

This is taken out of context just like the "good people on both sides" quote. He was condemning Hamas but recognizing that they aren't dumb.

Eh, Hamas got lucky basically.
I wouldn't call it smart in the military sense, but everything working in your favor perfectly

It wasn't luck, Because they enacted a multiple years in the making plan. Luck didn't have anything to do with it. This plan was at least 2-3 years in the making, maybe more.

Don't underestimate the enemy. They were able to lull isreal into a false sense of comfort and security and then exploited it.

These aren't the actions of dumb people.

They got lucky that Isreal had let its guard down.
I am not saying they didn't plan good.
But it wasn't smart because the plan relies on to much luck.

I don't underestimate them, and thier blind fisth in thier luck is what worries me more then being smart.
They played it at the right time, when Isreal was distracted hoping they remained that way.

Smart would have had them nit get wiped the fuck out once the actual army arrived.

Blind luck is scarier then smart
