Sorry to derail, but on this last one, thereā€™s actually an AH.com TL where communism becomes so reviled, the US passes a literal Communist Control Act to suppress pro-communist speech and activism.

Wonā€™t spoil the context in which it arises, exactly, but reading the first few chapters should give you a pretty good idea of why things got so bad to begin with. šŸ˜®

Your meme threads are filled with the same caliber of non-jokes, if I want to be honest with you. Either gets its "humor" from agreeing with your biases, over any sort of actual punchline.

Seriously, the fuck does Kyle from Fanboy & Chum Chum have to with transgenderism?!

Right, nothing. And yet, use of cartoon characters as mouthpieces for leftist messaging is plastered all across Tumblr. :cautious:

His flames are in the "trans colors"... are his flames transgender?

You gotta remember that everyone is colored according to their gender.

There was that splatoon (The ink people shooter thing) character that was... that same colors as the non-binary flag or something? And then the devs were like, 'no, we just chose those colors cause they look good together' or some shit.

Obviously the devs are wrong. Characters are colorcoded, just like people in real life! White people are evil, black people are the best, etc etc.

What's the sitch?

So trans people have the right to be cartoon sorcerers with braces? I don't get it. This seems like it's supposed to be a "counter" meme of sorts but what is the meme its mocking? Is this saying trans people aren't awesome unless they can use magic? Why don't they use magic to actually change genders down to their chromosomes with functional reproductive organs then?

Never saw much of fanboy and chum chum but I don't think that character was in anyway trans either. This was before political at the very least.

That doesnā€™t say much these days

Yeah, but as Sitch noted, at least it came out before mass media got blatantly Woke. Airing from 2009 to 2012 tends to do that, so for all its frivolous plotlines and slapstick goofiness, at least it didnā€™t shoehorn progressive messaging at every turn.

That said, I still canā€™t get over how my favorite childhood movies and cartoons from just ten-ish years ago ā€” which does not include Fanboy & Chum Chum at all, by the way ā€” were so much more compelling and lessā€¦ oversaturated with Wokeness, hyper-sexualization, and gaudy color choices. Havenā€™t seen the corroboration myself, but on some level, I can almost believe the powers that be deliberately accelerated the Culture War, when weā€™d have otherwise reached this point in the 2030s or ā€™40s if it took its course ā€œorganicallyā€ instead.

I remember Korra is what sent me from watching Nick ever again, and I only ever watched Cartoon Netowkr for Gumball.
Watched live action shows from there

I donā€™t suppose ā€œKorrasamiā€ set you off, just out of curiosity?

Korra was a violent thug. Entitled and sure in her superiority. Like any rich girl tomboy, tbh. She's honestly kinda grating. And that's even before getting into her doing things like forcing herself of Mako after leading Bolin along.

Then there's the fact that at, like five, she can bend three elements. Aang was considered an incredible genius for becoming an Airbending master at 12. Further, Aang had 0 idea that he was the Avatar until later. But Korra Sue can bend multiple and for sure knows that she's the Avatar at an incredibly young age.

She's really hard to like.

And the transition from Aang to Korra really destroys a lot of the spirituality of the setting turning it from 'anyone can be a bender' to a setting where the practice of eugenics makes complete and total sense since bending is accessible through genetics, even if it takes training to actualyl master. Lightning Bending was a Fire Lord Family Secret and like seventy years later, there are minimum wage lightning benders.

Korrasami is a joke. Asami isn't even a real character until like a third of the way through season two. And in order to 'explain' the ship you need pages and pages of the weakest arguments to 'prove it.' The comic follow ups about being gay are also a joke.

Legend of Korra was not a good show.

But she was a GAY WOMAN OF COLOR and so she is precious and can do no wrong! Gollum!
