I bailed after the first episode of season 2. season 1 was meh but if they had kept the relationship between korra and mako than even if they were both kinda bad for how they ended up together then there at least would have been a pay off for the crap drama throughout season 1. instead they just blow it up over nothing and tell mako that he got off easy and deserved getting his shit wrecked.

I feel little pity most people have to work

*Glances at Vaush and other bourgeoise leftists.*

Yeah, if the people shouting “Capitalism bad!” the loudest magically come to their senses at the last second, they’ll realize that getting rid of private property and voluntary exchange — while by no means a perfect system, certainly — was the worst mistake they ever made, once the mob sets fire to their house or the secret police come knocking in the dead of night. Too bad there’s no cure for willful ignorance or stupidity yet.

Biggest reason why I doubt they’ll succeed? Well, same reason that the KPD failed to bring down Germany: Hitler purged them all first — and ultimately, beat them to it, despite campaigning as the panacea to all the people’s problems.

We’re in for much the same fate, I fear, once the “Führer of the West” crushes his leftist opposition and finishes what they and their globalist backers started a hundred-fold. :(

It always funny for post revolutions to be like: 'Yeah, you still have to work. Are fucking stupid or something?' and for the Socialist grifters to make out like capitalists because they were the leadership and for the idiots that supported them to be completely and utter surprised that people still have to work in a communist utopia.

So true! 🤦‍♂️

Not sure if he coined it, but to quote (and perhaps, lightly butcher) a maxim from Tim Pool: "If you don't work to produce stuff, then there's no stuff!" — especially since they'd need to rebuild from all the destruction wrecked by revolution and civil war, just as their predecessors in Soviet Russia, Maoist China, and everywhere else that was the site of a violent communist takeover had to.

see this is part of the reason why I say learn to farm or hunt that way if crap really does go down you have the skills to move somewhere fairly remote or at the very least away from the nuclear meltdown that will be the big cities and feed yourself and your family. Not glamourous work but at least then you'd have a chance to be a master of your own fate. the hardest part would be getting water.

Well, I’ve been thinking of learning some gardening, at least, though I don’t know if I’d be proficient or hardworking enough to survive off of it in an “Everything goes to Hell!” scenario.

Certainly, it’s not always glamorous (as you point out), but at least the people with more hands-on, “production-centric” skills — farmers, loggers, mechanics, miners, plumbers, ranchers, and others — can either make their own living or make themselves more “useful” to any warlords who take over than the sheltered academics or managerial, white-collar class that rely on their computers, subordinates, and the infrastructure of a thriving civilization to do the actual gruntwork. Might join the workforce as one of the latter myself, but I wouldn’t mind picking up some skills from the former, either, seeing as they’ll pay dividends once the system comes crashing down.
