Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

There were reports of them killing some civilians who tried to escape the city, but no conclusive evidence to those claims yet.
I am just worried that others regular unit in the city get decimated first and they end up as the dominant force in the city for a time, the 36th infantry brigade that was here apparently got destroyed today.

Col Macgregor "I think Zelenskyy is a puppet"
To sum up what he says:
- Zelenski is an idiot, "nothing heroic about him"
- Everything that comes out of Ukraine disproven within 24 to 48 hours.
- Ukrainian Military is on the run and trying to use civilian populations and infrastructure as shields.
- The Russians were too soft on their enemy initially.

So far the best reporting of the Ukraine conflict comes from this account.

Just fill in your own captions apparently...

As others referenced earlier, here's another tweet thread from Trent Telenko. Recall he first did a Tweet thread on those high quality Chinese made tires that the Russian forces were apparently using. This one is on the logistics of the forty mile long convoy north of Kyiv.

And from foreign domestic news... if that makes any sense.

Putin apparently explaining his reasoning for Invading Ukraine to a bunch of would be flight attendants.

Don't worry, I'm sure their poo has been validated clean by top Men! The President is safe.

Some polling in Russia over the conflict in Ukraine. And just FYI you could choose multiple answers.

According to the Slavic Narnians or whatever...

Russian Narnia said:
"More than half of respondents - 58.8% support Russia's actions in Ukraine . There is a connection between age and a positive assessment of the "special operation". The older the respondents, the more they support the "special operation". Thus, the level of support among young people (18-29 years old) is a little more than 40%, and among Russians over 60 years old it reaches over 70%, ”the study says.

Also a video interviewing random Russkis about the Invasion of Ukraine and bombing of Ukrainian cities specifically.

The vehicles in Kherson base were probably not in drivable state.

The NCO sorps was seen as a tool of bourgeois oppression of the enlisted troops, so the earliest incarnation of the Red Army had no ranks but function titles. Once they they reintroduced the formal ranks, all leadership positions coalesced into officer ranks, because splitting your leaders into NCOs and officers would be bourgeois decadence, so the only kind of NCOs were senior conscripts (with next to no authority) and technical experts (for pay reason). Then the inertia carried this attitude on until the dissolution of the Soviet Union and a little bit more.

So its all communist denial of human nature and idiocy even though thousands of years worth of human history said otherwise then?

City is the headquarter of 56th infantry brigade, with at least 23d motorized battalion in the city and 21st mot deployed near Donetsk, I don't know where the 37th mot is, but it's likely in the city as well. 503d battalion of the 36th naval infantry brigade already suffered heavy casualties contesting the advance of Russian forces from the western direction and survivors were probably folded into 501st which is also in Mauripol. There is also National Guard regimental headquarters with Azov and patrol battalion, with Donbass battalion fighting in Vonovkha.

Denial of human nature is the founding stone of the communist ideology.

Arch will be doing another (3 of 3 so far) analysis on the Ukraine situation.
TBH I prefer what is coming out of actual military people, but see above for McGregor's take and look for Scott Ritter's stuff as well as that of an Indian general with a truly epic mustache that I posted earlier.
But that doesn't mean I don't like the guy and won't shill his stuff.

Also, damn it, why is he doing this at midnight, he should be in the same timezone as me!

Denial of human nature is the founding stone of the communist ideology.

Of (neo)liberalism and globalism, too.
AnCaps and CommieCaps, you, too!

A picture of the flooding of the Dnieper in the North West of Kyiv.

This is why the fighting is developing as it is and why the seizure of Hostomel by VDV was so vital.

Chernobyl was prime defensive terrain. If the Russians had been blocked there by speedy reinforcements that were forced to go to Hostomel instead, the UkA would have sealed off its North West effectively as the Pripyat Marshes would have been largely impassible and Russia would have to go all the way around toward Rivne or Volyn Oblast where they could have been bottled up.

Far from a stupid move as Zach and others posited, it was an operational necessity to quickly gain a key crossing in sufficient depth to deploy and threaten Kyiv before the UkA could arrive at Chernobyl in force.

It just occurred to me that World of Tanks/Wargaming is probably fucked now, and has been sense the invasion started. I haven't played it for a long time, too absorbed in New Vegas and Defcon.

I know it was either a Russian or Ukrainian based company, so either way they probably are screwed by an actual World of Tanks battle happening in their country.

Edit: Turns out both are out of Cypress now, not Russian or Ukraine.

I love it how Sarg and Arch cover stuff they understand, e.g. western politics, video games, and other aspects of pup culture, but tbh I am less willing to trust them on anything like Real World warfare and Russian military equipment.

That said, it is plausible that some units were slacking off, Russia did this very, very haphazardly and out of the blue, but Russia's "failures" and losses imho have been puffed up out of proportion.

This does kinda-sorta validate my law about Eastern European inventory equipment. 😂

Oh, and btw I think that cartoon parody was Serbian.
Except we have thousands of videos and pictures kf broken down and out of fuel vehicles

Got to admit I like his spirit, and choice of guns.

European Syria...this is gonna be bad.

Azov still kicking, and now is going after civies of...both sides I guess now. I am not surprised Neo-Nazi's resorted to this when they are effectively encircled and cut off.
@Bacle Belarus, but yes. Meanwhile, War Thunder has completely disabled in-battle chat.
Ah, ok.

Actually watching Jingles do his own take on Ukraine, because of how it affects or can effect Wargaming going forward.

Seems it's technically based in Cypress, not Belarus. And it pays no tax to Russia or Belarus.

Also, War Thunder is based in Hungary and Cypress.

So it seem like Wargaming and War Thunder are not associated with Russia legally anymore, and actually should not be boycotted at all. Nothing done to Wargaming and War Thunder will affect Putin or Russia at all.

He's also doing a Red Cross fundraiser.

Jingles actually had a very astute and level headed take on the whole situation that is worth hearing.

Which is the result of the photoshop battalion or Ukrainians dragging their own broken shit from some warehouse west of the Dnieper to do a last photoshoot.

Ah, ok.
Now we get to watch the Chechens and Sparta Battalion grind them into dust.

Soon to be Russian logistics equipment in Ukraine:

Speaking of...

I am honestly worried Azov may go off the rails now that they are cut off from the bulk of the Ukrainian army, wouldn’t want to be in Mariupol right now.
I heard the Chechens were beheading Azov guys after the Asov guys put pig fat on their bullets.

We’ll to be fair strong NCOs are mostly an American thing historically most armies just had officers lead the men. Except maybe Rome with its centurions.
